On the morning of November 4, the National Assembly Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo 's decision on personnel work.

According to the decision of the Politburo , Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - ceased to participate in the 13th Party Central Committee Secretariat, ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, ceased to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations.

Mobilize, assign, and appoint to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Executive Committee, General Secretary To Lam congratulated Mr. Do Van Chien on being assigned a new responsibility by the Central Committee and the Politburo.

The General Secretary emphasized that the assignment and appointment of Mr. Do Van Chien to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term aims to implement the Party's policy and prepare well for the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress.

The General Secretary pointed out that Mr. Do Van Chien had participated in the revolution and matured from practical activities, from the grassroots; and had a lot of experience in gathering and mobilizing the masses.

He participated in many terms of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat, and together with the Politburo and the Secretariat, participated in leading all aspects of the Party and the country's work for a long time.

The General Secretary emphasized that the assignment and appointment of Mr. Do Van Chien to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee aims to strengthen the Party's leadership, contribute to making the National Assembly increasingly promote its role and position in the country's political system, and more effectively institutionalize the Party's guidelines and policies.

The General Secretary acknowledged that Mr. Do Van Chien had completed his previous tasks very well. He always tried his best in any assigned task, from the localities to the Central agencies and especially during his time as a member of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The General Secretary hopes that Mr. Do Van Chien, in his new position, will continue to unite with officials in the National Assembly Party Committee, the National Assembly, and the National Assembly Standing Committee to lead the National Assembly to complete its tasks, organize and well implement the Party's guidelines, policies, and the National Assembly's decisions in the coming time.

The General Secretary also asked comrades in the National Assembly, the National Assembly Party Committee, and the National Assembly Standing Committee to continue to maintain the tradition of solidarity and unity, creating more strength to coordinate to successfully complete tasks; cadres of the Fatherland Front Party Committee and central organizations always stand side by side with the National Assembly, continue to promote the tradition of solidarity and coordination so that all agencies can successfully complete their tasks.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Do Van Chien expressed his emotion when General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Politburo, handed him the decision to assign and appoint him to the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.

He shared that this is both a great honor and a new responsibility, and he must strive to complete it well.

Mr. Do Van Chien affirmed that he will continuously study, cultivate, practice moral qualities, perfect working methods, unite, be devoted, and do his best together with the Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to successfully complete all tasks of the agency.

Mr. Do Van Chien was born in 1962, in Tuyen Quang province. He is a San Diu ethnic. Mr. Do Van Chien has a university degree in agriculture, majoring in crop cultivation; and a high level of political theory.

Mr. Do Van Chien is a member of the 13th Politburo (from May 2024); Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee; Member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Central Committee. Delegate of the 13th, 14th, and 15th National Assembly.

Before being mobilized, assigned and appointed as Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, he had a long time working in Tuyen Quang province (old), holding the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, then he was mobilized, assigned and appointed by the Politburo as Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term.

From February 2015 to April 2016, he was Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee. From April 2016 to March 2021, he was Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee. From March 2021 to April 2021, he was Secretary of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

From April 2021, he was Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. From February 2025, he was Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
