After dinner, as usual, Ho Van A Ran and Ho Van Ngan, Van Kieu ethnic group, students of Huong Linh Secondary School (Quang Tri) were guided by soldiers to study... Ho Van A Ran and Ho Van Ngan are among the children with especially difficult circumstances in the border area of Quang Tri. Their mother died early, their father went to work far away for many years without any news, Ran and Ngan were adopted by soldiers of Production Team 2, Regiment 52, Economic - Defense Group 337, and brought to live at the Team. Over the years, the officers and staff of Production Team 2 have become the father and mother of the two children. From food, clothing to education, the two children are all supported by the soldiers of Production Team 2.

Officers and staff of Production Team 2, Regiment 52, Economic - Defense Group 337 guide Ran and Ngan in their studies.

Similarly, at base 2, Economic - Defense Group 4, Luong Van Ngo, a 5th grade student at Tri Le 1 Primary School ( Nghe An ), is also being sponsored and supported by the soldiers. "This year, the soldiers just bought me a new bicycle. I will try to study hard to become a good person like the soldiers," Luong Van Ngo said.

Ngo lost his father at a young age, his mother remarried, and he lived with his elderly grandmother. For the past three years, he has been sponsored and supported by the Youth Union, Base 2, Economic - Defense Group 4. In addition to providing financial support, clothes, and books, every week, the Youth Union, Base 2, Economic - Defense Group 4 assigns officers, employees, and young intellectual volunteers to guide and help Ngo with his studies.

Provide support to students in difficult circumstances.

Along the border in the provinces and cities of Military Region 4, the military-civilian relationship is lit up every day by silent but meaningful actions. Programs such as "Sponsoring and supporting poor students to overcome difficulties" and "Helping children go to school" are not only social security policies but have become bridges of love, connecting children's dreams with the path to school. Not only Ran, Ngan or Ngo, hundreds of other children on the border in the 5 provinces and cities of Military Region 4 are also overcoming adversity every day thanks to the support of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

Many children have special circumstances such as: being orphaned, living with elderly grandparents, or having parents who work as hired laborers. Sometimes, their journey to school seemed to have to stop halfway due to lack of money. But then, the love and responsibility of Uncle Ho's soldiers promptly extended their hands to help them continue to nurture their dream of going to school. The gifts, though small such as: a pair of sandals, a new set of clothes, a bicycle..., have great spiritual value because they give hope and touch the heart. Mrs. Cut Thi Hong, Luong Van Ngo's grandmother, emotionally shared: "Since the soldiers came, my nephew no longer feels sad. He has new clothes, books, is taken to school by the soldiers, and takes care of every meal and sleep. My whole family is very grateful to the soldiers."

Economic - Defense Group 4 organized meals for children and supported students of Na Ngoi Kindergarten (Nghe An).

The military-civilian relationship does not stop at “giving” but also spreads the spirit of solidarity, trust and responsibility in the community. The soldiers are not only soldiers who help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, but also “companions” of each family, “fathers” of children who lack love. Lieutenant Colonel Vu Hong Duoc, Captain of Production Team 2, Regiment 52, Economic - Defense Group 337 said: “We consider the children as our own children. Supporting them not only helps them go to school but also sows the seeds of the future for the border area. The children studying well and living well is the foundation for maintaining the “people's hearts” at the border.”

The Youth Union, base 2, Economic - Defense Group 4 help sponsored students with their studies.

“Not only the Economic - Defense Groups but also hundreds of officers and soldiers from agencies and units in the entire Military Region 4 are quietly participating in the Project “Army officers and soldiers help children go to school”, donating a portion of their income to sponsor poor students with the heart of a soldier; opening literacy classes for the people… These small tasks are the heart and responsibility of soldiers towards the next generation. We hope that we can contribute to helping the children have more confidence, overcome difficulties to study well, become useful citizens and join hands to maintain the border and protect the Fatherland”, affirmed Colonel Nguyen Phi Hoa, Head of the Civil Affairs Department of Military Region 4.
