On Nguyen Luong Bang Street (Vinh Phuong area, Bac Nha Trang ward), the water level is about 30cm because this area is located in a low-lying area along the Cai River. People have to walk their motorbikes to ensure safety.

Phu Trung area (West Nha Trang ward) also recorded many small roads flooded, water overflowed into gardens and fields. These are all areas that suffered heavy damage during the flood at the end of November.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (residing in Vinh Phuong area, Bac Nha Trang ward) said that the floodwaters started rising on the evening of December 3, and his family had to stay up all night to move their belongings. The previous flood had swept away many properties. If the rain continues, he said he will rent a room at a higher place to avoid damage.

Local authorities have deployed forces on standby, put up warning signs and temporarily banned vehicles from passing through deeply flooded areas. As of 9am on December 4, the water was still receding slowly, and the sky was cloudy and gloomy.

According to Khanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station, from 3:00 p.m. on December 3 to 6:00 a.m. on December 4, the whole province had moderate to very heavy rain, with average rainfall of 50-120mm, and higher in some places such as Khanh Hiep (200.3mm), Son Thai (135mm), and Da Nhim (134.4mm).
Currently, the water level on the rivers is fluctuating, with small floods appearing in some places. On Cai Phan Rang River (Tan My station), the flood reached alert level 1-2 and continued to rise. The total capacity of 64 reservoirs in the province reached 621.19 million m³ (82.6% of design).

Many large reservoirs in the province such as Da Ban, Suoi Dau, Song Cai, Song Sat, and Song Trau have reached 76% - 87% of their design capacity.
The lakes are operating to regulate water with specific flow rates:
Southern area of the province : Song Cai lake discharges 19.67m³/s; Tra Co 103.78m³/s; Tan Giang 156.59m³/s; Song Than 93m³/s.
Northern area of the province: Hoa Son lake discharges 11.8m³/s; Da Ban 7.6m³/s; Suoi Trau 5.51m³/s; Suoi Dau 20.45m³/s; Cam Ranh 15.2m³/s; Ta Ruc 28.76m³/s.

It is forecasted that during the day and night of December 4, Khanh Hoa province will continue to have rain, with heavy rain in many places. Rainfall in the North is generally 20-40mm (some places >60mm), in the South 30-50mm (locally >90mm). There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas such as Van Hung, Van Thang, Suoi Hiep, Cam Lam, Khanh Son... and localized flooding in Dien Khanh, Nha Trang City, Cam Ranh, Ninh Phuoc, Thuan Nam...
