Speaking at the book launch, Colonel Do Phu Tho , Editor-in-Chief of the Veterans Newspaper, affirmed that the two publications are the result of more than 40 years of experience in the military and journalism of the author, a blend of "military spirit, journalistic spirit and poetic spirit" in a pen always focused on truth and beauty.
"Breakthrough Thinking" is a political commentary book containing over 50 articles, analyzing the fight against "internal enemies" and the demands for institutional reform, from streamlining the bureaucracy to renewing legislative thinking. While this book demonstrates the sharp wit of a political commentator who doesn't shy away from thorny issues, the poetry collection " Why Love" reveals a softer world of the author: 39 poems and a song imbued with the author's lyrical and contemplative spirit. The two books complement each other, one rational, the other emotional.

Author Nguyen Hoa Van shared: “I wrote 'Breakthrough Thinking' to contribute a voice to my colleagues and to those who are shouldering the responsibility of building institutions. I wrote to warn, to offer insights, and to help each official and party member protect themselves from the temptations of power. ' Why Love' reflects genuine emotions about love, family, and the anxieties about the imperfections of society. I hope readers will find in it faith, reflection, and a little peace.”
At the book launch, many experts affirmed the enduring value of the two works. Veteran, doctor, and PhD holder Dam Duy Thien, a long-time friend of the author, shared his heartfelt appreciation: “The soldierly spirit in Hoa Van’s writing is clearly evident in his constant focus on what is right, true, and beautiful. The two books are like two streams flowing from the same source of wisdom and compassion.”

In particular, the author decided to donate all proceeds from book sales on launch day to support disadvantaged veterans in border areas during the Lunar New Year of 2026, a gesture that fully embodies the spirit of "writing to serve, living to share."
