Sharing at the book launch ceremony, Colonel Do Phu Tho , Editor-in-Chief of Veterans Newspaper, affirmed that the two publications are the result of the author's more than 40 years of experience in the military and journalism, a blend of "soldier qualities, journalistic qualities and poetic qualities" in a pen that always strives for truth and beauty.
Breakthrough Thinking is a political book with more than 50 articles, analyzing the fight against "internal invaders" and the requirements for institutional reform, from streamlining the apparatus to renewing legislative thinking. If this book demonstrates the sharpness of a political writer who does not avoid thorny issues, then the poetry collection Why Love opens up a softer world of the author: 39 poems and a song full of lyricism and contemplation of the author. The two books complement each other, one side is rational, the other is emotional.

Author Nguyen Hoa Van shared: “I wrote Breakthrough Thinking to contribute a voice to colleagues and to those who are shouldering the responsibility of building institutions. I wrote to warn, to explain, so that each cadre and party member can protect themselves from the temptations of power. And Why Love is about very real emotions of love, family affection and even anxiety about the imperfections of society. I hope readers will find in it faith, calmness and a bit of peace.”
At the book launch, many experts affirmed the lasting value of the two works. Veteran, doctor, PhD Dam Duy Thien, a long-time friend of the author, shared his respectful feelings: “The soldierly quality in Hoa Van’s writing is clearly shown when he always aims for what is right, what is real and what is beautiful. The two books are like two streams flowing from the same source of wisdom and humanity.”

In particular, the author decided to use all the proceeds from the book's launch day to support veterans in difficult circumstances in border areas during the 2026 Lunar New Year, a gesture that fully demonstrates the spirit of "writing to serve, living to share".
