Nurturing ideals
At Pouyuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tan Tao Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), many outstanding workers were admitted to the Party on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. Returning to the rhythm of production at the factory after the honor of joining the Party in the sacred land of Con Dao, Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc (born in 1980) and Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1987) felt even more responsible for their work. For these workers, this is a great honor, a special milestone after many years of persistent labor, striving, and dedication.
Having been with the company for 23 years, Ms. Truc understands every aspect of the factory's operation, every production stage, and empathizes with the lives of the workers. Every day, starting at 7 a.m., she's already on the production line, checking on the workers' situation, arranging replacements for those on leave, monitoring order progress, and then busily handling paperwork and updating information from management to implement tasks. Initially hesitant when she first entered the working environment of an international corporation, Ms. Truc received dedicated guidance from her colleagues, gradually maturing. After many years, she has now become a mentor, supporting the next generation of workers. Not only is she dedicated to her work, but she also actively participates in union activities, caring for workers in difficult circumstances. "Before, I always believed: I must strive to be a good citizen. Now, as a Party member, I feel even more responsible and must strive to contribute more," Ms. Truc shared.
For young workers, becoming a Party member is not the end of their journey of striving, but the beginning of greater responsibility. From the oath taken on the sacred land of Con Dao, the aspirations of these young workers have become even stronger. “Before, I thought that doing my assigned job well was enough. But since taking the oath to join the Party ranks on Con Dao, I feel even more proud and know that I must be more responsible and strive harder in my studies to improve my professional skills so that I can be more creative and contribute even more. This is a new journey for me,” expressed Nguyen Trong Phuc, a meter reader at the Ho Chi Minh City Rural Water Supply Enterprise (Binh Tho Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
Add goals and responsibilities.
On the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, a married couple had the honor of joining the Party. Deeply moved as they raised their hands to take the oath under the national flag, the Party flag, and the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh on the sacred land of Con Dao, young Party members Nguyen Thi Hong Duyen and Nguyen Van Dong (both workers at Thai Binh Investment Joint Stock Company, Di An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared that becoming Party members not only helps them cultivate discipline and set clear goals in their work, but also motivates them to strive to be worthy of the trust of the Party organization and the company. Ms. Hong Duyen said that President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on dedication, responsibility in work, and his humble and simple lifestyle will be lessons for her and her husband to apply in their work and lives.
Developing the Party among workers and those directly involved in production and business is a source of replenishment, strengthening, and ensuring the continuity and development of the Party. To create a pool of outstanding workers to recommend to the Party, Party branches within enterprises have adopted many effective methods. In particular, through creative labor emulation movements, they have promptly identified and nurtured these "red seeds" (ideologically gifted individuals). According to Vu The Cuong, Secretary of Party Branch 1 of Pouyuen Vietnam Co., Ltd., Branch 1 currently has 47 Party members, mostly direct production workers. To create a source for Party development, the branch maintains a model where each Party member recommends at least one outstanding individual for the Party to consider for membership. After joining the Party, many workers have strived to improve themselves, successfully completing their tasks at work and in their places of residence; simultaneously becoming positive role models, spreading the spirit of striving among workers.
Mr. Luu Kim Hong, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Trade Union of Nidec Vietnam Company (Tang Nhon Phu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), shared that the development of Party membership among direct production workers has always been a priority for Party committees at all levels over the years. Through thematic meetings, worker forums, dialogue programs, cultural and sports activities, political awareness training courses, etc., the Trade Union has gradually fostered a sense of social responsibility, love for the profession, and civic consciousness, thereby cultivating the ideal of striving to join the Party among young workers.
According to Vo Khac Thai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, creating a pool of potential Party members is a task for the entire political system, including the role and responsibility of trade union organizations; especially developing Party members among workers and those directly involved in production and business.
