New look from 1719 works

Thanks to investment from the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas (Program 1719), in Dak Phoi commune, many important and essential infrastructure projects have been and are being implemented, creating a new look for the locality.

The Dak Lieng - Dak Phoi inter-commune road is more than 7 km long, designed as a class V road (mountainous area), with a 6.5 m wide roadbed. Up to now, the project has completed about 70% of the volume, some sections have been basically completed.

At the section passing through Jie Yuk village, the construction atmosphere is urgent. Mr. Y Nieng Du (Jie Yuk village) happily said: In the past, traveling on this road was very difficult, especially in the rainy season, the mud, motorbikes carrying agricultural products kept sliding up and down, sometimes it took two or three people to carry it through a section. Everyone wanted a big road. Now the road has been invested to be much wider, more solid, not only making traveling easier but also helping agricultural products sell for a higher price because transportation is less expensive and much faster.

Along with the development of transport infrastructure, the 1719 Program capital also invested in building school facilities in Dak Phoi commune. Le Thi Hong Gam Primary School has a total of 28 classes, with 873 students, nearly 100% of whom are ethnic minorities. Vice Principal Hoang Ngoc Phuong said that due to the difficult conditions of school facilities, in addition to the main location in the central area, the school had to arrange 5 separate locations. This situation makes it difficult to synchronously implement the educational program, especially subjects that require specialized equipment such as Information Technology and Technology.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Le Thi Hong Gam Primary School will build 12 new classrooms and subject rooms from the 1719 Program funding. When the classrooms are completed, all students in grades 3, 4, and 5 studying at separate locations will be transferred to the main school, which is much more convenient for teaching, especially helping students have better conditions to get acquainted with and study Information Technology, thereby meeting the requirements of the 2018 Education Program.

Dak Phoi Commune People's Committee said that from 2021 to now, there have been 21 projects and works under national target programs implemented in the commune. In recent years, the projects and works have contributed to completing the essential infrastructure system (transportation, irrigation, electricity, schools), promoting production, improving the quality of education and health , and significantly improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities.
