Photographer Nguyen Dong Xuan (stage name Nguyen Xuan) began his photography career in 1984, during the era when black and white film cameras were still in use. From 1987 to 1990, he was a volunteer soldier serving in the international community, working as a war correspondent (specializing in documentary and archival material) in Cambodia, serving in the 330th Division of the 979th Front, Military Region 9.
Currently working in business in An Giang province, despite his busy schedule, he always dedicates time and actively participates in his role as Head of the Chau Doc Photography Association, acting as a bridge to inspire creativity and promote images of his homeland to photographers everywhere; he is also a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), and a judge in international photography competitions sponsored by PSA.
On the international stage, he made a significant mark with numerous awards and titles, winning Gold, Bronze, and Silver medals, and having his works exhibited in countries such as Romania, India, and the Russian Federation.
Within Vietnam, he has won numerous awards and had his works exhibited at provincial, regional, and national photography competitions. Traveling throughout the country, he creates works on diverse themes, constantly nurturing his passion for photography. Through these competitions, he hopes to contribute in a small way to widely promoting the beautiful and vibrant images of his hometown, An Giang, in particular, and Vietnam in general.
Some notable achievements include: “My Beloved An Giang”, First Prize; “Sunrise at Thien Cam Son”, Second Prize and Special Award at the 2022 An Giang Beautiful Photo Contest; “Floating Village on the River”, exhibited at the 2022 Mekong Delta Regional Art Photography Festival...
Most recently, his work "Ta Pa Field" was honored to be selected by the Central Propaganda Department to participate in the photo exhibition "Vietnam - Colors from the Tropics," commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, in Moscow, and was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be printed in a publication promoting Vietnam, its land and people.
