At the ceremony, the Department of Science and Technology of Ca Mau province and the Intellectual Property Office signed a cooperation program for the period 2026-2030. Through this program, the two units will coordinate in state management, demonstrating their shared determination to build a transparent and effective intellectual property environment; promote innovation; support businesses and individuals in developing brands; and improve the effectiveness of enforcing and protecting intellectual property rights in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Luu Hoang Long, Director of the Intellectual Property Office, highly appreciated Ca Mau province's determination in building a comprehensive intellectual property development model, from establishing rights, governance, commercial exploitation to strengthening enforcement. Looking ahead, Mr. Luu Hoang Long suggested that all parties continue to strengthen coordination to improve the capacity for enforcing intellectual property rights; promote the application of digital technology in detecting, warning, and handling infringements; enhance monitoring and evaluation of enforcement effectiveness; and raise community awareness about respecting and protecting intellectual property rights.
The geographical indication "Ca Mau" for blood cockle products is protected by the Intellectual Property Office when all four conditions are met.
"Regarding the geographical indication 'Ca Mau' for blood cockles, as well as other renowned products protected by intellectual property rights, special attention should be paid to managing their use, controlling quality, tracing their origin, maintaining the unique characteristics of the products, and proactively protecting rights in both domestic and international markets," Mr. Luu Hoang Long emphasized.
