Send love to the cold

In winter, mountain winds and fogs come to the highland villages, bringing with them the cold, and it is also the time when the warm fires of love are lit. From open hearts, simple but loving gifts from benefactors are sent to help highland children overcome the cold winter days.

Su Ma Tung School and Ta Ngai Cho Kindergarten are the common home of more than 30 children. Because the school is in the process of investment and construction, teaching and learning activities are temporarily arranged at the village cultural house.

The joy of students at Su Ma Tung school.

The life of people in Su Ma Tung village is still full of difficulties, therefore, children here also suffer many disadvantages.

When informed that clothes would be sent to the kindergarten students, teacher Nguyen Thi Hue, a teacher at Su Ma Tung school, was very happy. She arranged her time to carry each bag of clothes to distribute to the students. The children were excited when their teacher put on a warm coat sent by benefactors from the lowlands.

Ms. Hue shared: In the class, there are many students from poor households and difficult family circumstances. We were very happy to receive the gifts. I am very grateful for the kindness of the benefactors for the children.

Children are warmer in new clothes.

Looking at the bright faces and sparkling eyes of the children, everyone felt warm. The warm coats not only protected the children from the cold but also warmed their hearts, making them feel cared for and loved.

Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Hien in Ta Lu village, Pha Long commune is the one who connected with kind-hearted people to send warm clothes and shoes to give to children.

Every year, in winter, I connect with benefactors in many provinces/cities to receive warm clothes to send to disadvantaged areas of the province. I hope that the warm clothes will bring joy and help children have better health in winter.

Recently, Trinh Tuong Border Guard Station coordinated with the Kind Heart Club and philanthropists to organize a charity program to give warm clothes, woolen hats and rice to students of Ban Lau Kindergarten and Primary School, Trinh Tuong Commune.

The activity becomes extremely meaningful when the weather in the highlands is entering the first cold spell of the season, making the lives and studies of students face many difficulties.

The clothes were washed and neatly folded by benefactors and sent to students in mountainous areas.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quang Thao - Deputy Political Commissar of Trinh Tuong Border Guard Station said: The program is organized with the desire to share difficulties and contribute to encouraging the spirit so that the children can feel secure to go to school. We hope that the children will have a warmer winter and continue to strive to excel in their studies.

During the ceremony, hundreds of gifts including winter coats, woolen hats and rice were delivered to the students. Although the gifts were not of great value, they showed the care of border guards, soldiers and kind-hearted organizations and individuals for students in the border area.

The joy and bright smiles of the children are the motivation for the border guards and benefactors to continue supporting the people in the coming time. This meaningful activity not only contributes to improving the living conditions of students in the highlands but also strengthens the solidarity between the army and people in the border areas, spreading the spirit of sharing in the community.

Caring about the health of the highland people, especially in the cold winter, recently, Bao Thang Regional Medical Center also organized a voluntary medical examination program in disadvantaged villages.

In Gia Phu commune, doctors from Bao Thang Medical Center provided consultation and screening for 128 people, and disseminated seasonal disease prevention measures; at the same time, coordinated with Gia Phu Commune People's Committee to present many gifts including essential necessities to households in difficult circumstances.

In Tang Loong commune, Bao Thang Regional Medical Center organized a program to examine and provide free medicine to 480 people and gave 34 gifts to poor households. Children in disadvantaged villages such as Trat 1, Trat 2, Ban Cam were also cared for and received warm clothes.

Multiplying the love sent to the highlands, each act of sharing, each truckload of clothes, medicine, necessities… not only helps dispel the cold in the highlands but also lights the fire of brotherhood. That extended love is kindling hope for a less harsh winter, cultivating a brighter future for children in the highlands.
