In recent times, the import-export turnover and State budget revenue of the Customs Branch of Region V have always been at a high growth rate, affirming its position as an important focal point in managing import-export activities of key industrial provinces in the North. In particular, the import-export turnover in the first 11 months of 2025 in the management area reached 208.118 billion USD, reaching 126.42% compared to 2024.
This is the first time the import-export turnover in the area under the management of the Department has exceeded the 200 billion USD mark. Thereby, demonstrating the growth and outstanding contribution of enterprises in the two provinces as well as the role of production - export centers of Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and neighboring provinces in the global supply chain.

Directing a number of key tasks of the industry at the conference, Deputy Director of the Customs Department Tran Duc Hung requested the collective leadership, officers, civil servants and employees of the Customs Branch of Region V to continue implementing innovative solutions and initiatives to carry out administrative procedures as quickly as possible for businesses; continue to reduce customs clearance time; reduce administrative costs. At the same time, support legal knowledge to improve compliance for the business community, create a friendly environment, and motivate businesses to develop sustainably; strictly prohibit all acts of harassment and abuse of power that affect the reputation of the unit and the Customs sector.
The Deputy Director of the Customs Department also hopes that the People's Committees of Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces will continue to pay attention, create conditions and provide more support so that the Customs Branch of Region V can continue to operate effectively and achieve many positive results in the coming time.
Speaking to congratulate the achievements of the Customs Branch of Region V, on behalf of the leaders of Bac Ninh province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong emphasized that the figure of 200 billion USD not only shows the large scale of trade but also shows the strong transformation in quality of the economy , affirming the endurance, adaptability and innovative spirit of the business community.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that with the consistent viewpoint that "the success of enterprises is the success of the province, the difficulties of enterprises are also difficulties in the management of the province", the leaders of Bac Ninh province are always committed to promoting administrative reform, strongly improving the investment and business environment; transparency, publicity, and convenience in accessing information and administrative procedures.
At the same time, proactively receive, listen to and handle difficulties and problems; provide maximum support to businesses; accompany investors in every stage, in the spirit of protecting legitimate rights and interests according to the law, contributing to bringing Bac Ninh to progress quickly and steadily in the roadmap to build the province into a centrally-run city.
Summarizing the socio-economic development situation of the province in recent times, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the total import-export turnover of Bac Ninh province after the merger is estimated at 182 billion USD, an increase of nearly 70% compared to 2021. The whole province is estimated to attract 17.6 billion USD of domestic investment capital and foreign direct investment capital, exceeding the set plan, continuing to be one of the two localities with the highest import-export turnover and accounting for 1/4 of the total import-export turnover of the whole country. The above achievements were achieved thanks to the outstanding efforts of the business community and the important contributions of the Customs force in the area.
In the coming time, to continue to make Bac Ninh the country's leader in attracting foreign investment, affirming its special role, shaping its position in the regional, national and regional development strategy, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Customs Branch of Region V to continue to maintain the tradition of discipline - professionalism - modernity; promote the application of technology, digital transformation in the direction of Smart Customs, creating maximum convenience for businesses to clear customs and access customs services.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that the business community will continue to trust and accompany Bac Ninh province; promote the spirit of innovation and creativity, improve competitiveness, seize new opportunities to expand investment and sustainable production and business in the area.
On this occasion, the Customs Branch of Region V honored and awarded commemorative medals to recognize the top 10 enterprises with large import-export turnover and the top 10 enterprises with large revenue contributions to the State budget in the two provinces.
Also within the framework of the conference, leaders of the Customs Branch of Region V directly discussed, answered and guided businesses in handling difficulties when carrying out customs procedures through the area; pointed out errors and violations that businesses often encounter during the customs procedures and gave some warnings.
Along with that, directly introduce to the business community the proposed Centralized Customs Clearance Model. This model marks a shift in customs management from decentralized to centralized, digitizing business processes to improve control efficiency, facilitate trade, contribute to the goal of digitizing the entire process of receiving and processing documents, converting to paperless procedures to reduce time and costs for businesses. It is expected that the model will be piloted at the Customs Branch of Region III (Hai Phong) and the Customs Branch of Region V (Bac Ninh) from March 1, 2026.
