The Nghinh Ong Lai Son Festival (Kien Hai Special Zone, An Giang Province) in 2025 will take place on December 4 and 5 (October 15 and 16 of the lunar calendar). With the theme "Kien Hai Special Zone - Aspiration to Reach Far".
The festival consists of two parts: ceremony and festival. The ceremony includes the Nam Hai god welcoming ceremony and other ceremonies such as inviting the gods, praying for peace, praying for the dead, and welcoming the army...

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Hai Special Zone Chau Hung Ky said that the Whale Festival not only has religious and cultural values but is also an event that attracts a large number of tourists to Kien Hai sea. This is an opportunity for people to understand more about the life and culture of coastal fishermen; at the same time, it is an opportunity to promote unique cultural and tourism products of the locality.
“The Whale Festival in 2025 has the theme “Kien Hai Special Zone - Aspiration to Reach Far”. The Party Committee, government and people of Kien Hai hope that people and tourists from near and far will continue to accompany the locality to build, preserve and contribute to making Kien Hai more beautiful and greener”, Mr. Chau Hung Ky emphasized.
