110kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc underground cable line.
Striving for power supply on December 5
PC An Giang said that after the incident of the 110kV underground cable Ha Tien - Phu Quoc, the company implemented a plan to supply priority power from the 110/22kV station in South Phu Quoc via the 22kV medium voltage grid for priority customer groups. At the same time, it coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Quoc special economic zone to mobilize large enterprises and customers with backup power to operate generators to reduce the pressure on power supply.
The electricity sector has mobilized 20 generators with a capacity of about 3.55 MVA to supply electricity to the northern area of Phu Quoc Island. Up to now, about 6,100 customers in the northern area of Phu Quoc Island are supplied with electricity alternately from the low-voltage grid and these 20 generators.

Currently, PC An Giang is urgently carrying out troubleshooting steps. By December 3, PC An Giang had completed pillar No. 2, installed cross braces, and installed beams; completed erection of pillar No. 3, and erected the base of pillar No. 4. At the same time, the underground cable was put on a barge, the cable was cut at the damaged location; the insulation was tested, the location needed to be cut, the cable was separated, the remaining underground cable was anchored to the temporary pillar, and the fiber optic cable sleeve was welded at pillar No. 0.
PC An Giang will complete pole 4, pull the wire from pole 1 to pole 4 (including fiber optic cable) and shave the semiconductor, make the underground cable head; complete the cable head, put the cable on the temporary pole; connect the underground cable, test; install the marine warning lights, test the phase comparison. Depending on the weather, the An Giang province electricity industry strives to complete the energization and supply of electricity to Phu Quoc special economic zone on December 5.

The power supply line is especially important.
Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone is supplied with electricity from the 110kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc underground cable line and the 220kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc line. The 110kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc underground cable was built and energized in 2014, supplying electricity to the central and northern areas of Phu Quoc Island, currently operating at about 75MVA, equivalent to about 70% of the entire island's capacity. By 2022, the electricity industry will continue to energize the 220kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc line, supplying electricity to the southern area of Phu Quoc Island.
Currently, the electricity industry is constructing the 110kV Phu Quoc - South Phu Quoc, 110kV Phu Quoc - North Phu Quoc, and the 220kV Phu Quoc transformer station. The 110kV transformer stations will be closed in a loop, supplying power from two sources: the 110kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc underground cable and the 220kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc line.

An Giang province's electricity sector and other sectors and functional forces salvaged an underground cable about 200m from the coast of To Chau ward.
These projects will completely solve the problem of transferring power between the 110kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc underground cable line and the 220kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc line in case of a power outage related to the Phu Quoc special economic zone. However, due to land clearance problems, these projects have not been completed; therefore, it is impossible to transfer power between these two power supply lines.
Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung has directed to overcome the power outage in Phu Quoc special economic zone. An Giang Provincial People's Committee requested PC An Giang to mobilize all available generators to ensure 24/24 continuous power supply as soon as possible, minimizing the situation of rotating power outages, meeting the living and production needs of Phu Quoc special economic zone residents and the tourism environment of Phu Quoc island.
PC An Giang closely coordinates with departments, branches, localities and relevant units to immediately deploy a temporary plan to restore the operation of the 110kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc submarine cable line, ensuring a maximum progress of no more than 10 days, trying to complete it as soon as possible.
The People's Committee of An Giang province requested the People's Committee of Phu Quoc special economic zone to enhance the sense of responsibility of local authorities in speeding up compensation and site clearance for power projects in the area, and soon completing the power supply circuit for Phu Quoc special economic zone.

PC An Giang urgently fixes the problem to soon supply electricity to Phu Quoc special economic zone.
