(Dan Tri Newspaper) - For the first time, Hue City has two students who won first prize in history at the National High School Excellent Student Examination in the 2024-2025 school year.
On February 10th, the People's Committee of Hue City held a ceremony to commend and reward students who won prizes at the National High School Excellent Student Examination for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phu Tho , Principal of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, this school year, Hue city has established 11 national teams of outstanding students with 108 students participating in competitions in mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics, literature, history, geography, English, French, and Japanese.

In addition to the 108 official students, there were also 16 students from the High School for Gifted Students affiliated with the University of Science , Hue University, participating.
This year, the Hue teams not only received guidance from the coaching staff but also support from experts from many major universities nationwide. Several former students of Hue National High School for the Gifted who had won international awards also returned to provide assistance.
According to Mr. Tho, Hue students excelled, winning a total of 85 awards, including 2 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 43 third prizes, and 25 consolation prizes. Notably, for the first time, the Hue city history team had two female students, Le Hoang Anh Thu and Hoang Hoai Phuong, who won first prizes, with Hoang Hoai Phuong achieving the highest score nationwide at 17.75 points.
The biology and physics teams from Hue City also have 4 students selected to participate in the second round of the selection process for international and regional competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, scheduled to take place in March.

The principal of Hue National High School for the Gifted stated that this is the highest number of awards Hue city has ever received, exceeding the previous year's figure by 11 awards, and continues to be among the leading schools nationwide in terms of national-level student achievements.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, along with city leaders, presented awards and acknowledged the efforts of the teachers and students. The prize money for students winning national-level academic awards was 40 million VND for first place, 20 million VND for second place, 14 million VND for third place, and 10 million VND for the consolation prize.
