Thai Prime Minister visits Hanoi.

This afternoon, the plane carrying Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and the Thai government delegation landed at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi).

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra's official visit to Vietnam was made at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh .

The delegation included the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Transport of Thailand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs , the Minister of Tourism and Sports, the Deputy Minister of Finance, the Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, the Trade Representative, the Government Spokesperson, and the Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam.

The plane carrying the Prime Minister of Thailand arrived at Noi Bai International Airport.

Welcoming the delegation at the airport were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung, and leaders of several departments and divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is the first official visit to Vietnam by a Thai Prime Minister in 11 years, taking place at a time when the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1976-2026), a significant milestone in the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Against the backdrop of the enhanced Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Thailand continuing to develop well, comprehensively, and in depth across all fields, this visit is an opportunity to promote bilateral cooperation to a new, more effective and substantive level.

The two Prime Ministers will co-chair the 4th joint cabinet meeting, a mechanism with a very special name that reflects the high level of interest and shared determination to develop bilateral relations.

The two sides will review and resolve outstanding issues and determine directions for cooperation in all areas.

In terms of political and diplomatic relations, the two sides will focus on exchanging measures to further strengthen political trust, exchange delegations and cooperation across all channels—Party, Government, Parliament, and local—and coordinate closely in regional and international forums, especially within the framework of ASEAN and the Mekong sub-regional mechanisms.

Regarding economic, trade, and investment relations, both sides will jointly review the progress of implementing plans and initiatives in this field, including the "Three Connections" initiative, while promoting measures to expand cooperation, aiming to increase bilateral trade to US$25 billion in the near future in a balanced and sustainable manner; and attracting Thai investment into Vietnam's priority sectors.

Regarding culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges, the two sides will discuss measures to connect localities, as well as strengthen cultural and tourism exchanges, creating a sustainable social foundation for friendly relations between the two countries.

The Thai Prime Minister is expected to meet with high-ranking Vietnamese leaders and participate in several other important activities.
