Mount Cam boasts numerous streams, lakes, and a unique mountain forest ecosystem; in particular, the climate on the mountaintop is cool year-round, earning it the nickname "Da Lat of the West," making it ideal for relaxation and health care activities. At the summit, there is also a statue of Maitreya Buddha over 33 meters tall, holding an Asian record and attracting many pilgrims. In addition, visitors can explore Thanh Long Lake, Thuy Liem Lake, and Ta Lot Lake; and bathe in Tien Stream and Otuksa Stream amidst the stunning mountain scenery...", introduced Pham Van Phuc, Secretary of the Party Committee of Mount Cam Commune.
Travel agencies believe that, in addition to its potential for spiritual, natural, and culinary tourism, Nui Cam commune also has a 3-6 month flood season, with agricultural sub-regions producing three crops of rice, vegetables, and fruit. This creates favorable conditions for developing experiential tourism products related to the flood season and agricultural tourism. However, these strengths have not yet been exploited as distinctive local products. "Although the locality is beginning to develop some homestays and farmstay tourism, they do not yet meet the standards for attracting high-spending tourists, especially international visitors," assessed Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tu, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Aldentravel.

Ly Chan An, Director of Vietravel Long Xuyen, affirmed that Mount Cam is a rare "treasure," possessing both cultural and religious value as well as potential for ecotourism and relaxation. However, tourism at Mount Cam remains limited to short-term pilgrimage and sightseeing, lacking systematic investment to become a regional-level tourist destination. “We could upgrade the temple and Buddha statues into a modern spiritual tourism complex, linked to the organization of annual Buddhist festivals; build a ‘Buddhist road’ on Mount Cam, while digitizing information and providing multilingual explanations; connect it with the Mount Sam and Ba Chua Xu Temple tourist clusters; organize regular lantern-releasing ceremonies on the full moon day and pancake or vegetarian food festivals at the beginning of the month… to better exploit spiritual and cultural tourism. In addition, we could develop eco-tourism resorts, homestays, local herbal spas, and boat trips on Thuy Liem Lake; invest in trekking routes, adventure sports tourism, and mountain biking around Mount Cam, exploiting the tourism and sports sector. We could also create light shows and 3D mapping on the Buddha statues or the surface of Thuy Liem Lake; recreate the mysterious history of That Son along with night market activities… to exploit night tourism,” Mr. An suggested.
Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tu believes that the locality needs to develop standard homestays and farmstay tourism. “Every year, we welcome quite a lot of international tourists to Chau Doc and Tra Su. They really enjoy experiencing boat trips on the Chau Doc River, exploring nature in the mangrove forest… and then going to Chau Phong to visit and experience the traditional brocade weaving of the Cham people. International tourists will love staying in beautiful homestays halfway up Mount Cam; spending their days tilling the soil to grow vegetables; making their own pancakes, and picking mountain vegetables to enjoy,” Ms. Tu shared.
Recognizing both objective and subjective "bottlenecks," the People's Committee of Nui Cam commune requested the Department of Tourism to advise the Provincial People's Committee on a suitable development orientation for Nui Cam tourism; upgrading and expanding connecting transportation infrastructure; and improving services and trade. "We will proactively manage security and order, enhance image promotion, and connect with businesses and travel agencies to design tours and routes to bring tourists to visit and relax," said Mr. Pham Van Phuc. Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, Nguyen Thanh Quoc, stated that the specialized department will reassess the tourism resources of Nui Cam and propose to the Provincial People's Committee a specific tourism development plan for each destination, maximizing strengths and encouraging businesses to create unique and attractive tourism products to serve tourists...
