According to Antara, the Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano located in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara province, erupted again in the early morning of August 2.
According to a statement from the Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Center (PVMBG) under the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the eruption occurred at 1:05 a.m. on August 2 local time, lasting about 14 minutes and 5 seconds.
The volcanic ash column reached an altitude of about 18 km above sea level.
Loud rumbling and explosion sounds were reported at the Lewotobi Laki-laki Volcano Observatory during the eruption.

Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano remains at Alert Level IV or Warning status.
Additionally, the public is advised to be vigilant against the risk of lava “floods”, especially during periods of heavy rain. Villages at risk include Dulipali, Padang Pasir, Nobo, Nurabelen, Klatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Boru and Nawakote.
Previously, on the night of August 1, the Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano erupted violently with a column of ash up to 10 km high.
The head of the Geological Agency, Muhammad Wafid, informed that the eruption occurred at 20:48 and was recorded on a seismic map with a maximum amplitude of 47.3 mm and lasted about 3 minutes and 40 seconds.
