Ho Chi Minh City launches a new generation "technology market".

(NLĐO) - The new version of the Technology Exchange Platform, developed from the techport.vn platform, has supported more than 280,000 connections between supply and demand parties.

On March 20th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology officially launched the new version of the Technology Exchange Platform. The event was attended by the Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Dang Minh Thong, representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology , and leaders from various departments and agencies.

According to Ms. Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, the Ho Chi Minh City Technology Exchange can be understood as an organized "technology market" where scientific knowledge and intellectual property are connected to enter production and business.

Developed from the techport.vn platform, the exchange has gradually established itself as a key data center and technology hub in the Southern region.

After years of operation, the platform has received thousands of technology requests from businesses; supported over 280,000 connections between suppliers and demanders; and automatically shared nearly 3,000 technologies and equipment to the National Science and Technology Exchange Platform by December 2025, thereby expanding connectivity nationwide.

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, emphasized that the Ho Chi Minh City Technology Exchange has gradually affirmed its role as an important data center and technology hub in the Southern region.

"This newly launched version marks a comprehensive transformation from an information-based model to a managed, monitored, and measurable online technology-based trading model, with three pillars of innovation: new trading technology products, a new technology platform, and a new operating model," said Ms. Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran.

Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Director of Ewater Engineering Co., Ltd., said that by participating in the new version of the exchange platform, the company expects to connect more deeply with units in need of technology, especially in fields such as water treatment and chemicals.

However, Mr. Hieu noted that technology research needs to stem from the actual needs of businesses to ensure commercialization potential. In addition, patent protection procedures are still slow, affecting the practical application of technology.

Furthermore, startups also hope to receive support from the government in areas such as communication, policies, patent registration, and supply-demand connections. This would enable businesses to access resources, participate in international exhibitions, and promote their products more effectively.

Launch event of the Ho Chi Minh City Technology Exchange

The event also included the signing of 12 technology transfer contracts between businesses and research organizations, with a total value of nearly 19 billion VND. Among these, 3 contracts were in strategic technology fields for Ho Chi Minh City, such as robotics and automation, and artificial intelligence.
