Note: Although Houttuynia cordata is ideal for cooling the body, quenching thirst, and treating many ailments, it should not be consumed in excessive amounts at once or multiple times a day, especially by those with weak spleen and stomach, or who frequently experience abdominal pain, diarrhea, and digestive disorders.
Additionally, choose fresh, green, medium-sized leaves of Houttuynia cordata with fresh, non-wilted stems; avoid using leaves that are infested with insects or yellowed.
