At a time when Phu Tho is experiencing rapid development, clean water is not only a necessity but also the foundation for health and the future. Improving quality from infrastructure to technology.

Two decades ago, with limited water quality, machinery, and infrastructure, providing clean water in Phu Tho province was extremely difficult. The turning point came with the completion of the Viet Tri and Phu Tho town water supply projects, opening up a completely new system – more modern, more integrated, and capable of meeting the rapidly increasing needs of the people. From a modest capacity of only 9,000 m3/day, the total capacity of the entire system has now reached 195,000 m3/day, sufficient to supply water to urban areas, industrial zones, and every village and hamlet in the province.

Not stopping there, Phu Tho Water Supply Joint Stock Company continued to invest in expanding infrastructure, building many new water supply facilities in communes, creating an increasingly widespread distribution network. Along this journey, technology has become a key "assistant." From smart valve systems and electronic meters to dataloggers monitoring the network and a 24/7 SCADA control center, every step in the water production and distribution process is monitored using real-time data. As a result, controlling leaks, regulating pressure, and increasing the capacity of the plants are much more accurate and faster than before.

To operate a modern system, well-trained personnel are essential. The company has proactively collaborated with universities and colleges, creating opportunities for staff to improve their management, technical, and operational skills in new technologies. Training courses in economics , human resource management, and automation are continuously offered, helping engineers and workers confidently master advanced equipment. All these changes not only increase production capacity but also create stability and sustainability for the water supply system serving over 210,000 customers in the province.

Commitment to public health

If infrastructure and technology are the "backbone" of the water supply system, then water quality is the most important commitment that Phu Tho Water Supply Joint Stock Company makes to the people. Every drop of water brought into the network must go through a rigorous control process.

According to company leaders, the entire system is applying the QCVN 01-1:2024/BYT standard of the Ministry of Health – a standard considered the highest "safety framework" for drinking water. Beyond mandatory requirements, the company has also invested in a 24/7 online monitoring system, continuously tracking water quality at every stage of treatment. Indicators such as turbidity, pH, residual chlorine, and microorganisms are updated in real time and transmitted to the control center, allowing engineers to make timely adjustments even with the slightest fluctuations.

Along with automated testing, manual sampling and independent analysis are also carried out periodically in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health. Water samples are sent for testing at authorized units to ensure objectivity. The results are then publicly available on the company's official channels, from the website to online announcements, making it easy for people to check and use the water with confidence.

Beyond controlling water quality at the plant, the company also focuses on protecting water security – from rivers and lakes to reservoirs, considering this its most important "line of defense." During prolonged periods of hot weather or the rainy season, technical teams spend more time on-site, inspecting each raw water intake point, monitoring quality, and proactively preventing potential risks. All efforts are directed towards a common goal: ensuring that the water supplied to the people remains clean, stable, and safe under all weather conditions.
