On December 6th, Reuters reported, citing an announcement from Nvidia, that the corporation had acquired VinBrain, a healthcare startup belonging to Vingroup . The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Nvidia's acquisition of VinBrain was finalized during Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's visit to Vietnam.
Previously, CEO Jensen Huang stated his desire to expand partnerships with leading Vietnamese technology companies and support human resource training to develop artificial intelligence (AI) technology and digital infrastructure.

According to Jensen Huang, Nvidia was fortunate to have a partnership with Vingroup when it acquired VinBrain, a startup in the artificial intelligence field from the group.
"This is an extraordinary and amazing startup in Vietnam. With VinBrain, we now have the starting point for a large-scale future design center," shared Nvidia's CEO.
As of September 30th, Vingroup had invested over $126 million in the startup VinBrain. Vingroup also recognized VinBrain as an associate company with an ownership stake of over 49.7%. Both its voting rights and beneficial ownership stake were at 49.74%.
VinBrain is presented as a pioneering company in developing artificial intelligence applications for the healthcare sector. The company has been deploying new technology solutions in over 182 hospitals in Vietnam, the US, India , Australia, and other countries, helping healthcare professionals improve their work efficiency.
On December 5th, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and CEO Jensen Huang signed a cooperation agreement to establish two AI centers in Vietnam. The Nvidia CEO affirmed this event as a significant milestone and a very happy day – the birth of Nvidia Vietnam.
According to the plan, Nvidia will establish a Vietnam Research and Development Center (VRDC) and an AI Data Center in Vietnam. These two facilities are expected to be the foundation for Nvidia and its domestic partners to deploy advanced AI.
