Nvidia buys artificial intelligence company VinBrain

On December 6, Reuters quoted Nvidia's announcement that the corporation had acquired healthcare startup VinBrain, a subsidiary of Vingroup. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Nvidia's acquisition of VinBrain was made during Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's visit to Vietnam.

Previously, CEO Jensen Huang said he wanted to expand partnerships with leading Vietnamese technology companies and support human resource training to develop artificial intelligence (AI) technology and digital infrastructure.

According to Mr. Jensen Huang, Nvidia is very fortunate to have cooperation with Vingroup when acquiring VinBrain - a startup in the field of artificial intelligence of this group.

"This is an extraordinary and wonderful startup in Vietnam. With VinBrain, we now have the starting point for a major future design center," said Nvidia CEO.

As of September 30, Vingroup has invested more than 126 million USD in startup VinBrain. Vingroup also recorded VinBrain as an affiliated company with an ownership ratio of more than 49.7%. The voting ratio and interest ratio are both at 49.74%.

VinBrain is introduced as a pioneer in developing artificial intelligence products in the medical field. The company has been deploying new technology solutions in more than 182 hospitals in Vietnam, the US, India, Australia... to help medical professionals improve their work efficiency.

On December 5, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and CEO Jensen Huang signed a cooperation agreement to establish two AI centers in Vietnam. The event was affirmed by the head of Nvidia as an important milestone, and also a very happy day - the birth day of Nvidia Vietnam.

According to the plan, Nvidia will establish the Vietnam Research and Development Center (VRDC) and the AI ​​Data Center in Vietnam. These two facilities are expected to be the foundation for Nvidia and domestic partners to deploy advanced AI.
