According to Tech4Gamers , while the global gaming community is 'boiling' with a series of information about the Nintendo Switch 2 generation of game consoles that were revealed in a rush this week, Nvidia - the main chip manufacturing partner for Nintendo - has just made another impressive announcement. Accordingly, Nintendo Switch 2 will have 10 times more graphics processing power than the previous Nintendo Switch version released in 2017.

'Awesome' graphics processing power from Nintendo Switch 2

In a new post on the company's official blog, Nvidia not only confirmed its involvement in developing hardware for the Switch 2, but also gave specific details about the graphics capabilities of the highly anticipated hybrid console.

"With 10 times the graphics performance, Nintendo Switch 2 delivers smoother gameplay and sharper visuals," Nvidia confidently asserted, marking the first official confirmation from a major hardware partner of the device's pure graphics processing power.

The 10x performance increase is a huge leap, significantly surpassing the gap between the Wii U and the original Switch. This promises a significantly improved gaming experience on the new generation of machines. More importantly, Nvidia also confirmed that the Switch 2 will be the first Nintendo console to support the currently popular advanced graphics technologies Ray Tracing and DLSS. Ray Tracing brings more realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections, while DLSS uses AI to upscale image resolution without significantly reducing performance, making games run smoother at high resolutions.

Nvidia's announcement further reinforces previous rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2's hardware configuration. The device is said to use a custom chip based on Nvidia's powerful Tegra T239 architecture, which is capable of outperforming even the PlayStation 4. In addition, the RAM capacity is also rumored to be up to 12 GB. This is a comprehensive upgrade compared to the Tegra X1 chip and the rather outdated Maxwell architecture GPU on the first Switch. However, Nintendo has remained silent, not announcing any detailed specifications.

The promise of Nintendo Switch 2's 'monstrous' power will soon be proven in practice. According to the revealed schedule, the device will officially reach fans around June 2025. The fact that famous blockbuster games with high hardware requirements such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring have been confirmed to be available on this platform makes fans even more eager to see whether Switch 2 can 'handle' these heavy graphics challenges.

With Nvidia's announcement, Nintendo fans' expectations for the Switch 2 have certainly been raised to a new level. Nintendo's next-generation console promises not only to inherit its unique versatility, but also to bring a real revolution in graphics power.
