Onana celebrates provocatively against Lyon fans.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper was thrilled after Manuel Ugarte's opening goal in Manchester United's 5-4 victory over Lyon in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on the morning of April 18th.

In the 10th minute, following a pass from Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho dribbled past two defenders before passing the ball back to Manuel Ugarte, who finished from close range to open the scoring.

After scoring, Onana ran straight to the Lyon fans' section and performed a joyful dance, nodding his head excitedly. This action by the former Inter Milan star drew criticism on social media.

"Onana showed complacency in front of the Lyon fans after scoring," one fan wrote. Meanwhile, another commented: "I don't understand why he's putting so much pressure on himself. Remember what Onana did in the first leg."

Conversely, there were also those who supported Onana's actions, saying: "Onana's provocation level is top-notch, I like this." Another fan commented: "Onana's actions are similar to Emiliano Martinez's. Opponents must be annoyed by this."

After the opening goal, MU and Lyon created an incredible back-and-forth battle in the Europa League. The "Red Devils" at one point led 4-2 after two legs, but their opponents scored three goals in quick succession to take a 6-5 lead in the second leg.
