Mr. Phung Van Tinh was originally from the suburbs of Hanoi . Born in 1967, after many jobs, he settled in Phuc Tho 2, a small village of the new Tan Ha commune, a land of people working in the new economy. That was in 2000, when the lives of Tan Ha people were still very difficult. Mr. Tinh recalled: "At that time, the economy was not developed in general, the roads were still dirt roads, we farmers mainly grew coffee, life was still very difficult". New land, new people, the young man Phung Van Tinh at that time enthusiastically participated in community activities in the locality, participating in the movements of the commune and the village. Recognizing the enthusiasm of the young man, the female party leader of Phuc Tho 2 village mobilized and guided Mr. Phung Van Tinh to practice and strive. And at the end of 2000, Mr. Tinh was honored to stand in the ranks of the Party.
At that time, Mr. Phung Van Tinh was still a young farmer, enthusiastic about doing business. He told himself that as a party member, he had to follow the Party's call, do business well, and grow coffee for productivity. So he invested in renovating his family's coffee garden, planting with the right techniques and processes, choosing good varieties, and cultivating safely. Over the decades, Mr. Tinh's family's coffee garden has become greener and healthier every day. Mr. Tinh has also replanted the old coffee garden with new coffee varieties that produce large beans, high productivity, and are popular in the market. Mr. Nguyen Viet Trung - Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Tan Ha commune commented that Mr. Tinh is one of the hard-working farmers, famous for growing high-yielding coffee in Tan Ha commune. Every coffee tree he plants is lush green, with strong roots and green leaves. That is because Mr. Tinh takes care of it with the right techniques, pays attention to adding a rich amount of organic fertilizer to the soil, providing the root system with a safe amount of nutrients, and has the ability to improve the soil in a sustainable way.
Not only is he good at economics, Mr. Phung Van Tinh also enthusiastically participates in movements in the commune. He is the head of the Farmers' Association, participates in agricultural and educational promotion, encourages people to grow coffee with the right techniques, mobilizes farmers to drill wells, dig lakes... Everywhere, in every work, the figure of party member Phung Van Tinh is seen. Mr. Tinh is also the Deputy Secretary of the Tan Ha village Party Cell, an excellent party member for many years, together with the Party Cell and the whole village creating solidarity and consensus to build the homeland. And in 2014, the people of Phuc Tho 2 village trusted and elected Mr. Tinh to the role of Village Chief. Up to now, he has had 2 terms as Village Chief and as Mr. Doan Van Trang, a resident of Phuc Tho 2 village, commented, Mr. Tinh will be the village chief for a long time because the people trust him very much.
To gain the trust of the villagers, Mr. Phung Van Tinh commented that first of all, he must be a good businessman. Mr. Tinh said, if he is not good at doing things, how can he gain the respect and admiration of the villagers. Like his family, with a coffee area of 1.2 hectares, he grows approximately 1,100-1,200 coffee trees. On average, each year, he harvests 7 tons of beans, is one of the most productive coffee growers in Phuc Tho 2 land and even in Tan Ha commune, there are not many households with high productivity like his family. He is also a farmer who grows coffee in a sustainable way, intercropping coffee with macadamia, creating landscapes and he focuses on encouraging villagers to cultivate coffee in a sustainable way. Next, the village chief must work clearly, provide information quickly, transparently and publicly so that villagers can participate in giving opinions and discussing. Mr. Tinh affirmed: “Transparent information is the first requirement to create solidarity in the village and commune. We farmers are not afraid of shortages, not afraid of hardship, only afraid of unfairness. Therefore, when information is clear and transparent, people will support and all activities will be very favorable.”
Mr. Mai Van Dinh - Vice Chairman of Tan Ha Commune People's Committee commented that Mr. Phung Van Tinh is an excellent party member, a good farmer, a valuable nucleus of the Party Cell of Phuc Tho 2 village. In the work of village chief, all policies and information are implemented by Mr. Tinh in the village very quickly and effectively. With the way of thinking and working of a farmer attached to his homeland, with the heart of a party member who sincerely cares for the people, Mr. Tinh has always lived up to the trust of the organization and the trust of the people of Phuc Tho 2 village.
