The sky was still misty in the early morning, the heavy rain that lasted the night before made the artillery field flooded and muddy, but the 85mm artillery batteries of the 452nd Artillery Regiment (Hanoi Capital Command) were present in full force at the training ground, doing a good job of preparing people, equipment, ammunition, strictly checking all technical operations to participate in the live-fire part with the 692nd Regiment (301st Infantry Division) in the command-agency exercise on one side, two levels on the map and in the field. Entering the exercise, the gunners were in a ready position, the spirit of concentration for the mission was clearly visible on the faces of the officers and soldiers.

According to the agreement, the command of Senior Lieutenant Le Trong Nhung, Platoon Leader of Platoon 1, resounded loudly: "The battery fires at target bunker number 13, explosive shells, immediate detonation, reduced charge, range angle 0.10, direction 30.0, aim at the center of the target, fire one round and load." After the command, the gunners quickly took out the elements, prepared the bullets, checked the direction and range, and operated accurately and rhythmically. After the command "Fire!", there was a loud explosion, flames from the barrel of the cannon shot out red, the ground shook slightly, smoke rolled white in a corner of the training ground, and the target was destroyed right from the first bullet. "That is proof of the results of the hard training of the officers and soldiers of the unit in the past time," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Dung, Commander of Artillery Regiment 452 excitedly said.

Participating in a live-fire exercise with an 85mm cannon for the first time, soldier Nguyen Dang Quoc, Battery 1, shared: “When preparing to fire, I was both nervous and excited. When I saw the bullet hit the target, I felt pride surge through my veins. This is a beautiful memory in my military life.”

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Dung, this was an opportunity to verify the results of the unit's training over the past time. The live-fire session of the 85mm artillery batteries took place safely, seriously, and according to plan. The results met and exceeded the set target, with 100% of the elements following the correct procedures, destroying the target right from the first round of bullets.

To achieve that result, the Party Committee and the Regiment Commander have led and directed the unit to closely follow the requirements and tasks, strengthen specialized tactical training, especially training in new terrain conditions and harsh weather conditions. Along with that, the unit regularly conducts endurance and flexibility training for officers and soldiers; the regimes and routines of regular training and discipline enforcement are strictly maintained. Along with that, the unit focuses on building and managing plans, schedules, organizing scientific training, strengthening inspection, promptly detecting and correcting weak links and weaknesses; promptly praising and rewarding groups and individuals with good training; promptly correcting shortcomings and defects.
