Over 500 parking lots fined for violations.

According to the Hanoi Department of Transport Inspectorate, since the beginning of the year, the agency has focused on inspecting and penalizing administrative violations at parking areas temporarily licensed by the Hanoi Department of Transport to use the road surface for parking on streets throughout the city.

Specifically, in the first nine months of 2024, the Hanoi Department of Transport's inspection force checked and issued administrative violation reports for 522 cases, with fines totaling over 2.4 billion VND.

Specifically, 157 cases involved the illegal occupation of roadways for parking, resulting in fines exceeding 738 million VND. 172 cases involved the illegal occupation of sidewalks for parking, with administrative fines totaling over 614 million VND. 193 cases involved the illegal operation of parking services, with fines totaling 1.1 billion VND.

During the same period, units of the City Police mobilized 5,942 officers and soldiers to patrol, guide, and supervise 102 parking lots and areas, including fining 2 cases with a total of 90 million VND for providing services at prices not in accordance with the City People's Committee's regulations.

Additionally, in the areas surrounding 102 parking lots and parking areas, the police units inspected and fined 21 cases with a total amount of over 140 million VND for acts of occupying urban roads or sidewalks for parking.
