During the period 2024-2026, the youth volunteer movement for the community will continue to be widely implemented by the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels in the province with many diverse and rich activities, attracting a large number of members and young people to participate, contributing to the successful implementation of tasks in the locality, creating a positive ripple effect to all strata of the population.

Volunteering for the community

The various levels of the association are promoting many practical volunteer activities such as caring for the poor during Tet (Lunar New Year), organizing "Volunteer Spring" events, "Border Spring" events, "Spring of Love" events, "New Year's Eve of Compassion" events, "Warm Tet for Children" events, "Zero-Cost Stalls", "Zero-Cost Breakfasts", "Meals of Love", "Zero-Cost Supermarkets", "Clubs for Acts of Kindness", "Clubs for Repairing Electricity for the People", "Bringing Love to the Elderly", "Neat Hair for the Spring Festival"...

Through these efforts, 37,312 gifts including essential goods and cash were distributed; 1,100 free meals were provided; 13,487 free medical examinations and treatments were offered; 3,290 units of donated blood were collected; 400 dental care vouchers were given; 20 bicycles were provided; 886 scholarships were awarded; 5,199 notebooks were given; 5 study corners were set up; 145 savings accounts were purchased; and 300 health insurance cards were collected; the total cost of implementation exceeded 13 billion VND.

Specifically, the "Spring Volunteer Program 2025" mobilized donations of 3,255 gifts and school supplies, 13,800 notebooks, 362 spring shirts for children, and 378 scholarships with a total cost of over 986 million VND.

Volunteer activities in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas are given attention by associations at all levels, strongly promoting the pioneering role of members and young people.

Typical activities include: launching "Green Sunday" campaigns, cleaning up, collecting garbage, clearing vegetation, planting flowers and trees; building "bright, green, clean, beautiful, civilized, and safe" roads, and creating safe traffic gates at schools...

Continue to maintain the effective operation of 9 "Acts of Kindness" clubs, 9 models of local markets reducing plastic waste, 14 youth environmental protection teams, and 21 models of waste sorting at source.

As a result, 522.6km of flower-lined roads were maintained, 107,513 new trees were planted, 18,041 saplings were planted, over 41 tons of garbage were collected, 193km of waterways were cleared, 7 garbage disposal sites were removed, and 62 illegal advertising signs were dismantled.

This is a space for shopping, enjoying local cuisine, and opening up opportunities for business networking and promoting local products.

Contributing to the construction of new rural areas.

The youth of Hung My commune are actively participating in the community volunteer movement with many specific and practical projects and tasks.

In the first six months of 2026, local youth union members participated in the construction and handover of four charitable houses and Red Scarf houses to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province for the 2026-2029 term, with a total construction cost of 240 million VND. They also commenced construction and handed over three rural bridges, with a total mobilized funding of 820 million VND. 193 youth union members participated in these activities.

During Youth Month 2026, youth union members in Hung My commune actively participated in Volunteer Saturday, Green Sunday, the "Joining Hands to Build New Rural Areas" campaign, and Youth Action Day… Through these activities, they cleaned many roads in the commune, including National Highway 53 in Tri Phong and Bai Vang hamlets, collecting 1,324 kilograms of waste, trimming 117 trees, eliminating environmental pollution hotspots at Bai Vang ferry terminal, and planting 278 new trees…

According to Mr. Kim Phat, Deputy Secretary of the Hung My Commune Youth Union, the volunteer movement for the community has been actively participated in by union members and young people. This demonstrates the sharing spirit, solidarity, and responsibility of young people towards society.

In Long Hiep commune, during the first six months of the year, the Commune Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of the commune coordinated the inauguration of Ba Trach B bridge (costing 320 million VND), the inauguration of Sa Van B bridge (costing 160 million VND), and put into use a rural road lighting project in Ben No hamlet, 600m long, costing 31 million VND.

The campaign to clean up the environment and contribute to building new rural areas covered a distance of over 7.6km, collected and processed over 1.2 tons of waste, planted 400 new trees, cared for 250 trees, and provided direct guidance to 245 households on implementing the waste sorting model at source.

In coordination with other organizations, a model for providing healthcare and support to poor households and elderly people living alone was implemented. Over 15 volunteers conducted home visits, inquired about the health of the elderly, and distributed 35 gifts worth a total of 7 million VND. Simultaneously, they mobilized benefactors to donate 425 gifts to poor households and families receiving preferential treatment in the commune, totaling 108 million VND.

Mr. Tran Trung Thuong, Secretary of the Commune Youth Union and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union in Long Hiep Commune, said that volunteer activities for the community contribute to promoting the energy of young people in implementing volunteer movements in the locality, contributing to the effective implementation of social welfare work, and improving the criteria for building new rural areas.
