Halal is becoming one of the growing trends in global trade as the market size continues to expand, especially in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and some African countries. Not only serving the Muslim community, Halal-certified products are increasingly chosen by consumers due to meeting high standards of quality, food safety and hygiene, and traceability.
For Khanh Hoa , this presents a great opportunity for strong products such as seafood, coffee, bird's nest, processed agricultural products, food, and beverages to expand their export markets. However, many businesses in the area still face difficulties in accessing information about Halal standards, certification processes, and the requirements of each market. Therefore, in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies, and units to strengthen the provision of market information and update new regulations on Halal. At the same time, it will organize trade connection programs, trade promotion conferences, specialized trade fairs, and support businesses in promoting their products in markets with high demand. Developing the Halal market is not just about exports but also a driving force for businesses to upgrade their entire production process according to international standards. By meeting the requirements of the Halal market, businesses will also enhance their competitiveness in many other demanding markets. The support of regulatory agencies will help businesses reduce barriers to market access, thereby encouraging them to invest, innovate, and develop sustainably.

In the context of the rapidly developing global Halal market, trade promotion activities play a crucial role in bringing businesses' products closer to international importers and distribution systems. Recently, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center has proactively coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to organize numerous activities connecting supply and demand, introducing OCOP products and local specialties, and supporting businesses in participating in domestic and international trade fairs and exhibitions. In the future, as the province implements Halal product development programs according to the Provincial People's Committee's plan, the center will integrate Halal product promotion activities into trade promotion programs, connecting businesses with partners from countries with large Muslim populations.
In addition, the center will strengthen the application of digital platforms in promotional activities, build a database of Halal businesses and products in Khanh Hoa, and support businesses in introducing their products on trading platforms, online conferences, and international media channels. In reality, to effectively develop the Halal market, it is necessary to build a consistent image for the province's products, from quality, packaging, and branding to the product story. When businesses have products that meet standards and are properly promoted, opportunities to access new markets will be wider, contributing to increasing export value and affirming the position of Khanh Hoa goods in the international market.
* Mr. Dao Van Hien - Head of Sales Department, Hucafood Production - Trading Co., Ltd. (Bac Nha Trang Ward): Halal certification opens more doors for Vietnamese products.

Through the Halal certification process, we realized that it's not simply a certificate for export, but truly a "passport" that helps businesses access new markets. When products meet Halal standards, opportunities to connect with partners in Muslim countries as well as many other international markets become easier, because buyers highly value transparency in the production process and the company's ability to control quality.
For Hucafood, achieving Halal certification has given us an added advantage in our market expansion strategy. Currently, in addition to boosting exports to South Korea, Russia, and Australia, and preparing to introduce products to the US market, we have more opportunities to access Muslim markets and many countries in the ASEAN region. This shows that if businesses meet international standards, the opportunities for development will be much broader. However, achieving Halal certification is not easy. Businesses must invest comprehensively in everything from raw material sourcing, production processes, quality management systems to traceability. In particular, it requires a long-term commitment and cannot be done merely as a trend, because Halal requires businesses to strictly maintain standards throughout the production process.
Khanh Hoa has many strong products such as coffee, seafood, bird's nest, processed foods, etc., all of which are fully capable of participating in the Halal market. What businesses need now is greater access to market information, guidance on certification procedures, and connections with assessment organizations and international importers. With the support of management agencies and well-structured trade promotion programs, more businesses will be encouraged to invest in Halal standards, thereby increasing product value and expanding export markets.
