Supermarkets and shopping malls are focusing on changing their appearance.
Amidst changing consumer tastes and shopping habits, supermarkets and shopping malls are undergoing significant transformations in their appearance, moving towards a more modern style and offering customers new shopping experiences.
At the end of January 2026, Central Retail Vietnam Group and Dong Nai Food Industry Corporation (Dofico) will inaugurate and put into operation the GO! Dong Nai shopping mall in Long Hung ward.
Mr. Olivier Langlet, General Director of Central Retail Vietnam, said: GO! Dong Nai officially commenced operations with a more modern and sophisticated appearance and a more convenient experience for customers. This transformation and upgrade demonstrates Central Retail Vietnam's long-term commitment to providing higher service standards and making a positive contribution to local development.
GO! Dong Nai Shopping Center is being redeveloped with a total investment of 252 billion VND, of which nearly 200 billion VND is dedicated to renovation and upgrading, aiming to provide a more modern, convenient, and customer-friendly space. Spanning over 52,000 m², GO! Dong Nai features a single commercial floor, built as a multi-utility shopping center encompassing shopping, dining, education, and entertainment.
At Co.opmart Dong Xoai (Binh Phuoc Ward), the supermarket has a total area of approximately 6,400 m2, of which more than 2,000 m2 is used for display and sales, and the remaining area is dedicated to community activities and utility services. The supermarket is divided into two floors. The ground floor is used for displaying and selling processed and fresh food products, combined with leasing space for food and beverage services, fashion retail, and a children's play/entertainment area. The upper floor displays goods in the household goods, clothing, and also offers rental space for bookstores, fashion stores, children's toy stores, a food court, and a children's play area.
According to Nguyen Quoc Minh, Director of Co.opmart Dong Xoai Supermarket: “Besides business operations, Co.opmart Dong Xoai also dedicates a portion of its space to additional amenities for customers such as: a resting area, a free phone charging area, a free drinking water service area, free restrooms, a free gift wrapping area, and a parking area for customers visiting and shopping at the supermarket. In particular, the layout design incorporates a mix of sales areas, entertainment areas, and auxiliary areas to facilitate quick access to the supermarket's services and create a comfortable shopping environment for customers.”
Many new, consumer-friendly experiences.
Many supermarkets, shopping malls, and convenience store chains in the province are increasingly focusing on diversifying their product lines to meet modern consumer trends and provide more convenience for consumers, especially those in urban areas. At the same time, they are promoting the development of multi-channel retail and digital payments to attract consumers to experience and shop with them.
According to Central Retail Group's communications department in Vietnam, GO! Dong Nai, with its new look, aims for a comprehensive and friendly customer experience with many changes to the equipment and facilities on the first floor, such as: installing new, modern equipment to ensure the most convenient and safe shopping experience for all customers. At the same time, GO! Dong Nai also adds and upgrades a range of free services (parking, free luggage storage, etc.), as well as arranging a care area for mothers and babies, supporting families with young children, and providing a dedicated access route for people with disabilities…
According to the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Businesses, the results of a survey on consumer behavior and trends in the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Selection Survey, conducted from September 2025 to January 2026, show that the retail market is clearly shifting towards omnichannel. Supermarkets and shopping malls remain the primary shopping channels, with 44% of surveyed consumers choosing to purchase products at these malls and supermarkets; this figure is particularly high for food products, reaching 58%.
Ms. Anh Thu (residing in Tran Bien ward) stated: Supermarkets and shopping malls in the area are increasingly focusing on the shopping and consumption experiences of customers, especially young customers, with many new spaces combining shopping, dining, and entertainment activities... In particular, digital payment methods are increasingly developing with many conveniences, promotions, and incentives… This contributes to giving customers more shopping choices and making ordering and payment more convenient in today's era of developing digital consumption.
According to Le Duc Thuan, Director of Lotte Mart Dong Nai (Long Binh Ward): Lotte Mart Dong Nai focuses on integrating a modern, multi-channel retail model. The supermarket concentrates on developing target customer groups based on their shopping behavior, living area, and frequency of interaction. Simultaneously, Lotte Mart Dong Nai continues to develop multi-platform sales: from websites and mobile applications to online grocery shopping platforms, and developing livestreaming sales channels… aiming to expand technological touchpoints and develop more conveniences for consumers.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Minh further shared: In the coming time, Co.opmart Dong Xoai Supermarket will continue to screen and select goods to promptly introduce new items that suit market trends and the actual needs of customers. At the same time, the supermarket will also innovate the layout of the food court and fashion section to create a fresh look for the overall shopping space. In addition, the supermarket will also renovate some shopping space items, paying special attention to investing in a canopy system for customer walkways from the parking lot to the main gate, and investing in a rest area with free amenities such as: phone charging, drinking water, shoe polishing machines…
