Doraemon Movie 45 grossed nearly 180 billion VND . |
Currently, Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea holds the record for the highest-grossing film in the franchise's history, surpassing the records of the two films released in 2024 and 2025. Furthermore, the 45th Doraemon film has also become the highest-grossing anime (Japanese animation) in Vietnamese theaters, exceeding Conan: The Shadow of the One-Eyed Man ( 175 billion VND ).
Despite being hampered by the "Ghost ," the film still shows the potential to reach the 200 billion VND revenue mark.
The story of Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea unfolds during summer vacation, when Nobita and his friends argue about a travel destination. Following Doraemon's suggestion, the group decides to camp in the middle of the ocean. From a relaxing getaway, the group is drawn into a conflict between the Mu Federation and Atlantis, facing a threat that could endanger the entire planet.
While the 1983 version impressed with its concept of the deep sea and its rich ocean ecosystem, the 2026 remake has a more modern storytelling approach. The script is streamlined, the pace is faster, and it's significantly easier to follow. As the most prominent animated film of summer 2026, it's easy to understand why Doraemon Part 45 grossed nearly 200 billion VND.

The film "Ma Ho ," starring Tin Nguyen, is currently a box office sensation. |
Returning to the box office, the name that stood in Doraemon's way was "The Ghost ," a horror film directed by Phan Bá Hỷ. After about 10 days of screening, the film had grossed nearly 120 billion VND . The reason the project, starring Lê Khánh and Tín Nguyễn, became a sensation was due to its well-received script and acting.
The film generated word-of-mouth, drawing a large audience to theaters due to FOMO (fear of missing out). If all goes well, "Ma Xó" could reach 150 billion VND in revenue by the end of this weekend.
