Women in the island commune are actively involved in economic activities.

Overcoming difficulties and taking advantage of the island commune's strengths, many women in Tam Hai commune have successfully started businesses and created valuable products, contributing to increased income and job creation for workers.

In 2019, Ms. Pham Thi Le Na (35 years old, residing in Binh Trung village, Tam Hai commune) established the "Co Kieu Shredded Dried Squid" production facility and implemented the "Co Kieu Dried Seafood Project" idea. Through participation in a startup idea competition organized by the Women's Union of Quang Nam province (formerly), the "Co Kieu Dried Seafood Project" idea was recognized as a provincial-level startup project by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province (formerly) and was selected to compete at the national level.

In 2020, Ms. Le Na upgraded her production facility to the Trung Hai Agricultural and Aquatic Products Cooperative, operating in various fields. To date, her facility has successfully produced two OCOP products that have achieved 3-star provincial ranking: "Co Kieu Shredded Dried Squid" and "Co Kieu Crispy Dried Anchovies". Annually, her facility sells thousands of products to the market, generating considerable revenue and providing employment for many women.

Ms. Tran Thi Chung (55 years old) from Dong Tuan village, Tam Hai commune, has also successfully implemented her startup project "Developing the traditional fish sauce brand of Ms. Chung". The project was completed in 2 years (2020 - 2021) with a total investment of over 600 million VND. After the first two years, the project has basically recovered its capital and has started to generate profits with a monthly production of over 20,000 liters of fish sauce, generating nearly 100 million VND in revenue.

Ms. Chung shared: "From the abundant and delicious seafood resources of the region, we came up with ideas to produce traditional specialty products, contributing to spreading the entrepreneurial spirit and creating jobs for female workers."

According to Ms. Bui Thi Chung Thuy, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tam Hai commune, during the period 2020-2025, the union organized many activities to disseminate the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on entrepreneurship, business development, vocational training, and the project to support cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers. To date, more than 1,150 female members have participated in activities on entrepreneurship and business development.

The Women's Association of the commune introduces and connects OCOP products and startups; participates in product displays at TechFest and forums and events in the series of startup activities organized by various levels, thereby introducing and selling thousands of startup products from the island commune.

In addition, the Women's Union of Tam Hai commune has created conditions for female members to implement startup ideas and livestock farming models owned by women, enabling them to access preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank totaling over 27.4 billion VND.

Tam Hai currently has approximately 1,150 female members, and an increasing number of women are participating in economic development, production, and business, especially in the field of entrepreneurship, with establishments producing famous products such as "Co Chung Fish Sauce," "Co Kieu Dried Squid," "Tam Hai Vegetable Jam," "Co Tung's Spinach," "Co Lap Apricot Juice," "Tam Hai Shrimp Spring Rolls," "Herring Salad," "Long Quan Jelly," "Co Thich's Coconut Oil and Coconut Cakes," etc.

Every year, the Women's Union of Tam Hai commune organizes training courses and disseminates information on production and business development projects, supports women's entrepreneurship, introduces members to participate in business startup classes, and promotes and displays products. At the same time, it organizes a series of local activities and the "Local Cuisine - Connecting Startup Products" program, introduces OCOP products, and organizes the "Creative and Green Transformation Women's Entrepreneurship" competition.

During the period 2025-2030, the island commune will continue to prioritize investment in new rural development, tourism , services, and marine economy... in order to further exploit the potential and strengths of the island commune. The achievements of recent years provide a fundamental advantage for the locality to maintain stability and development. The Women's Union of Tam Hai commune has proposed many solutions to promote women's entrepreneurship linked to building a high-quality care economy in the era of digital skills, information technology, and digital media…
