
In 2019, Ms. Pham Thi Le Na (35 years old, residing in Binh Trung village, Tam Hai commune) established a production facility for "Co Kieu shredded squid" and implemented the idea of "Co Kieu dried seafood project". Through participating in the startup idea competition organized by the Women's Union of Quang Nam province (old), the idea of "Co Kieu dried seafood project" was recognized by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province (old) as a provincial-level startup project and was selected to compete at the central level.
In 2020, Ms. Le Na upgraded her production facility to Trung Hai Agricultural and Aquatic Cooperative, operating in many different fields. Up to now, her facility has successfully produced two OCOP products that have achieved 3-star provincial level: "Co Kieu Shredded Squid" and "Co Kieu Crispy Dried Fish". Every year, her facility sells thousands of products to the market, bringing in relatively large revenue, creating jobs for many women.
Ms. Tran Thi Chung (55 years old) in Dong Tuan village, Tam Hai commune has also successfully implemented the start-up project "Developing Ms. Chung's traditional fish sauce brand". The project was completed in 2 years (2020 - 2021) with a total investment of more than 600 million VND. After the first 2 years, the project basically recovered its capital and began to make a profit with a monthly production of more than 20,000 liters of fish sauce, with a revenue of nearly 100 million VND.
Ms. Chung shared: “From the fresh and abundant seafood resources of the sea, we came up with ideas to produce traditional, typical products, contributing to spreading the entrepreneurial spirit and creating jobs for female workers.”
Ms. Bui Thi Chung Thuy, President of the Women's Union of Tam Hai commune, said that in the period of 2020 - 2025, the union organized many activities to propagate the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on start-ups, business development, vocational training and projects to support cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers. Up to now, more than 1,150 women members have participated in meetings on start-ups and business development.
The Women's Union of the commune introduces and connects OCOP and startup products; participates in displaying products at TechFest and forums and events in a series of startup activities organized by all levels, thereby introducing and selling thousands of startup products of the island commune.

In addition, the Women's Union of Tam Hai commune also created conditions for female members to implement start-up ideas and livestock farm models headed by women to access social policy banks to initiate preferential loans of more than 27.4 billion VND.
Tam Hai currently has about 1,150 women members and more and more women are participating in economic development, production and business, especially in the field of startups with establishments with famous products such as "Miss Chung fish sauce", "Miss Kieu's squid", "Tam Hai jam", "Miss Tung's lettuce", "Miss Lap's apricot juice", "Tam Hai shrimp rolls", "Ms. Herring salad", "Long Quan jelly", "Miss Thich's coconut oil and coconut cake"...
Every year, the Women's Union of Tam Hai commune opens training courses, disseminates projects on production and business development, supports women in starting a business, introduces members to participate in business start-up classes; promotes and displays products. At the same time, it organizes a series of local activities and the program "Countryside cuisine - connecting start-up products", introduces OCOP products, organizes the contest "Women start-up innovation and green transformation".

In the period of 2025 - 2030, the island commune continues to prioritize investment in developing new rural areas, tourism , services, marine economy... to continue exploiting the potential and strengths of the island commune. With the results achieved in recent years, it is a basic favorable condition for the locality to continue to maintain stability and development. The Women's Union of Tam Hai commune has proposed many solutions to promote women's start-ups associated with building a high-quality care economy in the age of digital skills, information technology, digital media...
