Following the gold medal achievement of athlete Vo Huynh Anh Khoa on the morning of June 4, the Vietnam Disabled Swimming Team continued to have another gold medal thanks to the work of athlete Vi Thi Hang.
At the Watersports Palace at Morodok Techo National Stadium on the outskirts of Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh, Vi Thi Hang (injury class S7) excellently finished first in the women's 400m freestyle swimming event, with record 6 minutes 57 seconds 95.
Second place (2 minutes 7 seconds 12) is athlete Chantha Thoeun of the host country Cambodia. Vi Thi Hang's speed also helped set a new Southeast Asian record, breaking the old record of 69 minutes 9 seconds 34.
Thus, in the morning of June 4, the Vietnam Disabled People's Sports Delegation had 6 gold medals, both brought home by the Swimming Team.
On the first official competition day of the Games, Vietnam Disabled People's Sports is also expected to have a gold medal in weightlifting when weightlifting athlete Le Van Cong, Paralympic record holder Le Van Cong, and two runners-up Dang Thi Linh Phuong and Nguyen Binh An entered the competitions.
