Mr. Pham Van Hoan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mong Cai 2 Ward, shared that among the 17 socio -economic development targets of the locality, many have been exceeded significantly. With a focus on service development, state budget revenue achieved its highest ever results, reaching 385.5 billion VND, equivalent to 121.5% of the allocated budget; of which, the ward's budget revenue reached 256.6 billion VND, nearly three times exceeding the target set in the Resolution on socio-economic development for 2025. This impressive figure reflects the strong vitality of the urban economy and the effectiveness of the local government's revenue management and exploitation. The private sector continues to develop strongly, becoming an important driving force for growth. Currently, there are 369 operating businesses in the area, including 102 newly established businesses in 2025; and more than 705 individual business households. Production and business activities are thriving, contributing to job creation and increased income for the people.
Mong Cai 2 has been infused with new life as the "100-day urban quality and residential infrastructure upgrade" movement has been implemented synchronously and spread to every neighborhood. Many roads have been renovated, and the lighting system, greenery, and environmental sanitation have been significantly improved, contributing to changing the urban landscape towards a green, clean, beautiful, civilized, and modern direction. In 2025, the ward implemented 6 public investment projects aimed at urban beautification and social welfare with a total capital of 75 billion VND; and received and continued to be the investor for 7 transitional projects from higher-level units.
In particular, tourism has flourished, becoming a highlight in the ward's development picture with over 514,000 visitors. Traditional festivals such as the Van Ninh communal house festival and the Xa Tac temple festival are organized solemnly and richly; mass cultural and sports activities take place vibrantly, contributing to preserving and spreading local cultural values and attracting tourists.
One highlight of Mong Cai 2 ward since the implementation of the two-tiered local government system is its administrative reform coupled with digital transformation. Mong Cai 2 ward has invested in upgrading its information technology infrastructure and issued digital signatures to 100% of its officials and civil servants. The ward has established 18 community digital technology teams and implemented the "Digital Literacy for the People" movement in every residential area. Administrative procedures are becoming increasingly transparent and convenient for citizens, aiming to build a government that serves the people and businesses.
Mr. Pham Van Hoan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mong Cai 2 Ward, affirmed: "2025 is a year of special significance, as we are simultaneously implementing administrative unit restructuring and ensuring the comprehensive completion of socio-economic development tasks. The achievement of 17 out of 17 targets is the result of the unity and efforts of the entire political system and the consensus of the people. In 2026 and the following years, Mong Cai 2 Ward will continue to focus on developing services and the private economy as driving forces; promoting urban beautification, developing tourism, improving the quality of administrative reform, digital transformation, and aiming to build a modern, civilized, and livable urban ward. In particular, the ward is implementing a project to develop the night-time economy – this will be a new driving force in the development of local services."
The new spring brings new expectations. With a solid foundation, Mong Cai 2 ward is confidently embarking on a new, dynamic and ambitious path of development towards becoming a tourism and service center in the eastern region of the province.
