Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims Pogba will return to action this weekend, after a 26-month absence. AS Monaco confirmed the French midfielder trained with the team and is ready to feature in the match against Rennes.

"Monaco hopes this will be the starting point for the midfielder's resurgence and his real contribution on the pitch. At 32, the former Juventus star is preparing for one of the most anticipated comebacks in European football," L'Equipe added.

The last time Pogba played an official match was over two years ago, on September 3, 2023, in the clash between Empoli and Juventus. Since then, "La Pioche" has been completely absent due to an 18-month ban.

Therefore, expectations for this comeback are enormous. The remaining question is which Pogba will return – the star who once conquered the world or the one struggling to rediscover himself?

Pogba may only be brought on for a few minutes, but his return is still seen as an initial success, marking a new chapter in a career that seemed to have stalled.

Monaco are currently ranked 6th in Ligue 1, 7 points behind PSG after 12 rounds.
