The KC 1,000 VND Charity Vegetarian Restaurant (No. 100, Tran Viet Chau Street, Cai Khe Ward; under the Can Tho City Charity and Child Protection Association) recently celebrated its 7th anniversary (August 18, 2018 - August 18, 2025). For the past 7 years, the restaurant has operated with a symbolic price of 1,000 VND per portion, aiming to support those in need.

For the past seven years, many people have contributed to preparing vegetables, cooking, and serving at the restaurant without receiving any compensation. Currently, this team includes Ms. Tho, Ms. Lien, Ms. Kim Tu, Mr. Phong, and others. Each meal consists of rice, vegetarian dishes, and fruit served in a tray. In the photo: Mr. Phong is serving rice to customers.

The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:30 AM each day until all the rice is gone. Each day, they serve over 50 portions.

Proposed Can Tho Tourism Development Strategy until 2030(CTO) - On July 3rd, Mr. Le Quang Tung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, and Head of the Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation; and Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, held a working session with leaders of departments, agencies, and Asean Investment Joint Stock Company on the orientation for tourism development in Can Tho in the new phase.

Customers only pay 1,000 VND per serving into the donation box; those who wish to contribute more are welcome to do so.

The restaurant was established and maintained by the Can Tho City Charity and Child Protection Association in collaboration with the KC Real Estate Association. Funding was raised from benefactors. From August 18, 2025, the restaurant will also sell frozen vegetarian food, with profits contributing to the restaurant's operating fund. In the photo: Representatives from both sides regularly meet to discuss the management and operation of the restaurant.

To celebrate its 7th anniversary, benefactors contributed and donated 30 gift packages to underprivileged regulars who came to eat at the restaurant. Each package included rice, noodles, and essential items (worth over 400,000 VND); and 20 gift packages to children belonging to the Street Children's Club, including candies, milk, bags, water bottles, notebooks, etc.
