Quang Binh Province has a new Chairman.

Mr. Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, was elected by the Provincial People's Council as Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

This morning (December 11th), at the 19th session of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Council, 18th term, 2021-2026, Mr. Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Dong Hoi City Party Committee, was officially elected as Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee.

This session of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Council focused on considering, discussing, and deciding on many important issues related to personnel work. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council submitted to the Provincial People's Council a proposal to elect Mr. Tran Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Secretary of the Dong Hoi City Party Committee, as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

With the unanimous (100%) consensus of the delegates, Mr. Tran Phong officially assumed the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province for the term 2021-2026.

At the meeting, the Quang Binh Provincial People's Council also approved the dismissal of Mr. Tran Thang from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Thang has been assigned by the Party Central Committee to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc for the 2020-2025 term.

Yesterday (December 10th), the Executive Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee also held a conference and elected Mr. Tran Phong, Secretary of the Dong Hoi City Party Committee, as Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee with 100% of the votes in favor.

The Secretariat also issued a document agreeing to nominate Mr. Tran Phong to be elected as Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Tran Phong (born in 1974, from Quang Phuong commune, Quang Trach district) holds a high-level political theory qualification and a master's degree in economics. Before assuming the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phong held many positions, such as: Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo Trach district; Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Secretary of the Dong Hoi City Party Committee.
