Building on that foundation, Quang Ninh is gradually enhancing the attractiveness of its coastal and island tourism through a well-planned investment strategy, product diversification, and a focus on sustainable development.

Improving infrastructure and shaping the marine tourism ecosystem.
In recent years, Quang Ninh has focused strongly on investing in strategic infrastructure to create a breakthrough for coastal and island tourism. The inter-regional expressway system, international passenger port, marina, and Van Don airport have formed a synchronized network, significantly shortening travel time for domestic and international tourists.
In particular, the Van Don - Mong Cai expressway and Van Don International Airport have opened up new development opportunities for coastal and island tourism in the eastern part of the province, conveniently connecting key destinations such as Van Don, Co To, and Mong Cai with Ha Long Bay and neighboring localities.

Building upon that infrastructure, Quang Ninh's coastal tourism ecosystem is constantly being improved with the emergence of numerous large-scale resort and entertainment complexes such as Sun World Ha Long Park, Vinpearl, FLC, Premier Village, Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh hot springs, and the provincial museum and library complex. To date, the province has more than 200 standard coastal accommodation establishments, including hundreds of hotels ranging from 1 to 5 stars, capable of catering to diverse tourist segments from budget to luxury.
Simultaneously, Quang Ninh is developing 21 tour routes in Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long Bay, promoting coastal tourism products, cruise ship tourism, and a "Night Cruise Street" at Ha Long International Cruise Port… These products not only refresh the tourist experience but also contribute to extending the length of stay, increasing spending, and enhancing the value of exploiting marine and island resources.
Product diversity, expanded experiential space.
One of the key highlights in Quang Ninh's strategy to upgrade its coastal and island tourism is the diversification of products towards high quality, environmentally friendly options, and those aligned with sustainable tourism trends. By the end of 2025, the province aims to have over 60 coastal and island tourism products, ranging from sightseeing and relaxation to eco-tourism and marine cultural experiences.

Visitors to Quang Ninh not only get to see scenic spots but also have the opportunity to experience activities such as snorkeling to admire coral reefs, kayaking, night squid fishing , exploring deserted islands, visiting fishing villages, and learning about the lives of fishermen in the coastal region. These activities not only enhance the experience but also contribute to the conservation of marine resources and ecosystems.
Notably, at the end of March 2025, Quang Ninh officially launched tours of Bai Tu Long Bay, opening up a new tourism space with rich potential. These tours take visitors to famous destinations such as Quan Lan and Minh Chau, while also exploring new landmarks like Phat Co Island, home to Phat Co Cave, one of the bay's largest and most beautiful caves. Here, visitors can kayak, visit seaweed farms, or relax on pristine, peaceful beaches.
Quang Ninh's coastal and island tourism space is also expanding in the direction of regional linkages. The opening of a tourist route from Lan Ha Bay (Hai Phong) to Ha Long Bay has effectively utilized the value of Vietnam's first inter-provincial heritage site, expected to attract an additional 500,000 visitors annually, contributing significantly to budget revenue and increasing the attractiveness of northern coastal tourism.

Quang Ninh's tourism infrastructure is making increasingly significant progress.
In Co To island district, the local government has announced 8 island tour routes connecting destinations such as Co To Con, Hon Ca Chep, Hon Su Tu, Hon Bay Sao, Hon Dong Nam, Thanh Lan, and Tran Island. This is an important step in elevating the brand of Co To island tourism and creating new experiences for tourists.
Along with infrastructure and product investment, Quang Ninh places special emphasis on promoting and advertising its coastal and island tourism. Synchronized communication campaigns are implemented in both domestic and international markets, targeting key markets such as South Korea, Japan, China, the United States, Europe, and Australia.
These efforts have yielded tangible results. In the first 11 months of 2025, Quang Ninh welcomed over 19.8 million visitors, an increase of approximately 10% compared to the same period; of which international visitors accounted for over 4 million. Total revenue from tourism reached approximately 52,600 billion VND, an impressive growth of 21%. The increasingly diverse international tourist market demonstrates the growing attractiveness of Quang Ninh's coastal and island tourism on the regional and global tourism map.
From its rare natural advantages and synchronized infrastructure to its diverse product ecosystem and sustainable development strategy, Quang Ninh is asserting its position as a leading coastal and island destination in Vietnam, ready to reach the international market with its own unique value.
