VHO - On the morning of December 26th, the 9th Annual Congress of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for the 2025 term (2022-2026) was held at the VFF headquarters.

The Vietnam Football Federation's annual congress was held on the morning of December 26th.

The Congress is an important occasion for members of the Vietnamese football community to review and comprehensively assess the results of activities in 2025; at the same time, to promote the spirit of solidarity and responsibility, discuss and agree on the direction and tasks for 2026, ensuring the effective implementation of the goals of the 9th term.

In his opening remarks at the Congress, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), on behalf of the VFF Executive Committee of the 9th term (2022-2026), respectfully thanked the international football organizations, delegates and distinguished guests, especially the member organizations, for taking the time to attend the Congress.

Reviewing the results of activities in 2025, the Congress acknowledged many important milestones of Vietnamese football amidst numerous difficulties and challenges. Notably, for the first time in history, Vietnamese football has seven teams at different levels qualifying for the Asian Championship Finals in 2025-2026, spanning men's football, women's football, futsal, and youth teams. This achievement demonstrates the depth of development and the effectiveness of the long-term investment strategy.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - President of the VFF - respectfully thanked the contributions of the clubs, training centers and member organizations; and acknowledged the close support and cooperation of FIFA, AFC, AFF and partner football federations for the development of Vietnamese football.

At the Congress, delegates unanimously agreed to remove Mr. Cao Tien Doan from his position as a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, 9th term, in accordance with the regulations of the Charter; at the same time, the number of members of the Executive Committee, 9th term, remains at 16, and no additional members will be elected until the 10th Congress.

The congress also unanimously agreed to terminate the membership of eight units in the Vietnam Football Federation, including: Yen Bai Provincial Football Federation, Binh Duong Provincial Football Federation, Quang Nam Club, Hoa Binh Club, Phu Tho Club, Dong Nai Club, Tien Giang Club, and Savinest Khanh Hoa Futsal Club; and at the same time admitted three new members: Xuan Thien Phu Tho Club, Quang Ninh Club, and Bac Ninh Club.

The Congress adopted important reports, including: a summary of work in 2025 and directions and tasks for 2026; a review report of the VFF Executive Committee; a report on the professional work of the national teams; a report on the organization of professional football leagues; an audited financial report; a budget plan for 2026; and also agreed to amend and supplement Article 69 of the VFF Charter.

The delegates unanimously agreed to entrust the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) with incorporating the directives from the leaders of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports , as well as the contributions made at the Congress, to finalize the documents, develop the action program and implementation plan for 2026, and resolutely strive to successfully implement the Resolution of the 9th Annual Congress of the VFF in 2025 (term 2022-2026).
