Investing in infrastructure to pave the way for development

With the viewpoint of planning and developing infrastructure to pave the way for development, Mr. Du Minh Hung, Director of the Department of Construction, said that the sector strives to complete the approval of the master plan of 10 new urban areas in communes, the zoning plan of Tac Van commune; complete the administrative classification of Tac Van ward; submit to the Ministry of Construction and the Government to recognize Ca Mau city as a type 1 urban area under the province; complete the approval and implementation of the Project to build Ca Mau city into a smart city, the Project to implement flood prevention solutions for Ca Mau city and the Project to develop urban green trees in Ca Mau province. Strive to complete development targets such as: the urbanization rate of the whole province reaches 35%; the average urban housing floor area reaches 26.8 m2 floor/person; the rate of solid and semi-solid houses in the whole province reaches about 85%; complete 155/200 social housing units as planned.

Regarding key projects, Mr. Du Minh Hung said that the industry actively coordinates with ministries, central agencies, and relevant agencies to speed up the progress of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway and the expressway connecting route in Ca Mau province. Coordinate in implementing procedures and documents to submit to competent authorities for approval of key and driving projects in the province such as: Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway; Upgrading and expanding National Highway 1, National Highway 63, Ho Chi Minh Road (through the province; coastal road of Ca Mau province; road connecting to Hon Khoai Island and Hon Khoai General Port; belt roads of Ca Mau city connecting national highways, expressways and urban systems of the province. Coordinate with Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to start upgrading and expanding Ca Mau Airport; focus on starting key and important projects to welcome the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

“Faced with many opportunities but also many challenges ahead, the construction industry is committed and determined to mobilize all resources to complete the tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, contributing to the successful implementation of the emulation movement to achieve GRDP growth of Ca Mau province by 2025 of 8% or more,” Mr. Du Minh Hung expressed his determination.

Determination business

With impressive achievements in exporting Vietnamese seafood in 2024 (up 12.7%) and Ca Mau province (up 5.86%) over the same period, Mr. Hoang Huu Phung, Deputy General Director of Ca Mau Seafood Processing and Services Joint Stock Company (CASES), said that the unit's export plan for 2025 is to reach 200 million USD, an increase of more than 30 million USD over the same period. To achieve the high growth plan, the unit continues to boldly invest in new products, change technology, renovate equipment, promote modern and fast production processes, meet customer needs. Arrange and train human resources, create stable income and good social security conditions, for more than 5,000 workers and employees of the unit to have enthusiasm, dedication to work, and dedication to the development of the company.

In the proportion of the economy, shrimp farming and processing for seafood export is still the main industry, which needs to be planned and developed in a more stable, sustainable and effective manner in the following years. With the motto of production associated with sustainable development of raw material areas, improving income and living standards of shrimp farmers, CASES Company will continue to expand its participation in production and processing chains with farmers and related businesses. “This helps ensure a supply of quality shrimp, improve productivity and product standards, not only improving farmers’ lives but also promoting sustainable development of the industry,” Mr. Hoang Huu Phung shared.

As one of the three main pillars of the Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer Industrial Cluster, Mr. Doan Cong Duc, Director of Ca Mau Oil and Gas Power Company (PV Power Ca Mau), said that since entering commercial operation (in 2007), Ca Mau Power Plant 1 and Ca Mau Power Plant 2 have provided an output of over 116.5 billion kWh, revenue of over 174 trillion VND, contributing more than 4,450 billion VND to the State budget. In 2025, the unit set a target of producing 5.9 billion kWh (up 9%), revenue of 11,500 billion VND (up 11%) over the same period.

Overcoming challenges, completing growth target by 2025

Affirming that economic growth is aimed at the goal of taking care of people's lives, and that people's enjoyment is increasingly better, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai requested that in assigning tasks, there must be "5 clarity", which are clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear time and clear results, according to the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Assigning the responsibility for emulation here, not only at the provincial level, but the entire political system must participate, creating consensus for everyone, every household to compete, create products, create jobs to achieve the best and highest results, for a better life for the people, for the stable and sustainable development of the business community.

In the new context and conditions, any remaining difficulties must be thoroughly, quickly and effectively resolved. "Whatever can be done must be done immediately; doing it 1 day or 1 session earlier also contributes positively to the overall growth of the province and the country", the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed on handling the work of the government system at all levels in performing public duties. Regarding the arrangement of the apparatus after the merger, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested not to disrupt and continue the work that is being done and needs to be done, with a spirit of great determination and greater efforts in performing tasks.
