Investing in infrastructure paves the way for development.
With the perspective that planning and infrastructure development should precede development, Mr. Du Minh Hung, Director of the Department of Construction, said that the department strives to complete the approval of the general planning of 10 new urban areas in the communes, the zoning plan of Tac Van commune; complete the administrative classification of Tac Van ward; submit to the Ministry of Construction and the Government for recognition of Ca Mau City as a type 1 urban area directly under the province; complete the approval and implementation of the project to build Ca Mau City into a smart city, the project to implement flood control solutions for Ca Mau City urban area and the project to develop urban green spaces in Ca Mau province. The department aims to achieve development targets such as: urbanization rate of the entire province reaching 35%; average urban housing floor area reaching 26.8 m2/person; the percentage of solid and semi-solid houses in the entire province reaching approximately 85%; and completing 155 out of 200 social housing units as planned.
Regarding key projects, Mr. Du Minh Hung stated that the sector is actively coordinating with central ministries and agencies to accelerate the progress of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway and the connecting expressway in Ca Mau province. They are also coordinating the procedures and documentation for submission to competent authorities for approval of key, driving projects in the province, such as the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway. Upgrading and expanding National Highway 1, National Highway 63, and the Ho Chi Minh Highway (passing through the province); the coastal road of Ca Mau province; the road connecting to Hon Khoai Island and Hon Khoai General Port; and the ring roads of Ca Mau City connecting national highways, expressways, and the province's urban system. Coordinating with the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to commence the upgrading and expansion of Ca Mau Airport; focusing on launching key projects to celebrate the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
“Faced with many opportunities but also numerous challenges ahead, the construction industry is committed and determined to mobilize all resources to complete the tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, contributing to the successful implementation of the emulation movement to achieve a GRDP growth rate of 8% or higher for Ca Mau province in 2025,” Mr. Du Minh Hung expressed his determination.

With impressive achievements in Vietnam's seafood exports in 2024 (up 12.7%) and Ca Mau province's (up 5.86%) compared to the same period, Mr. Hoang Huu Phung, Deputy General Director of Ca Mau Seafood Processing and Service Joint Stock Company (CASES), said that the company's export plan for 2025 is to reach 200 million USD, an increase of more than 30 million USD compared to the same period. To achieve this high growth target, the company will continue to boldly invest in new technologies, upgrade equipment, and promote modern and efficient production processes to meet customer needs. The company will also focus on training and developing its workforce, creating stable income and good welfare conditions for its more than 5,000 workers and employees, fostering enthusiasm and dedication to the company's development.

With a production philosophy closely linked to the sustainable development of raw material areas and improving the income and living standards of shrimp farmers, CASES Company will continue to expand its participation in production and processing linkages with farmers and related businesses. “This helps ensure a supply of quality shrimp, improve productivity and product standards, not only improving farmers' lives but also promoting the sustainable development of the industry,” Mr. Hoang Huu Phung shared.
As one of the three main pillars in the Gas-Electricity-Fertilizer Industrial Cluster, Mr. Doan Cong Duc, Director of Ca Mau Petroleum Power Company (PV Power Ca Mau), said that since commencing commercial operation (in 2007), Ca Mau Power Plant 1 and Ca Mau Power Plant 2 have supplied over 116.5 billion kWh of electricity, generating revenue of over 174 trillion VND, and contributing more than 4,450 billion VND to the State budget. In 2025, the company aims to produce 5.9 billion kWh (a 9% increase) and achieve revenue of 11,500 billion VND (an 11% increase) compared to the same period.

Aware of his role and responsibility in supplying electricity to meet production needs amidst the country's determination to accelerate and achieve breakthroughs, Mr. Doan Cong Duc committed to efficiently operating the two power plants, exceeding the plan, and, together with other local businesses, contributing to increasing the proportion of industrial production in Ca Mau province, helping the province achieve a growth rate of 8% or higher as targeted.
Overcoming challenges and achieving growth targets in 2025.
Affirming that economic growth is aimed at improving the lives of the people and ensuring their well-being, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai requested that tasks be assigned with "5 clear points": clear person, clear task, clear responsibility, clear time, and clear results, in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The responsibility for emulation here should not only be at the provincial level, but the entire political system must participate, creating consensus so that everyone can compete, produce goods and create work to achieve the best and highest results, for a better life for the people and for the stable and sustainable development of the business community.
In the new context and conditions, any remaining difficulties should be addressed thoroughly, quickly, and more effectively. "Whatever can be done should be done immediately; doing it even one day or one half-day earlier contributes positively to the overall growth of the province and the country," the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed regarding the handling of work by the government system at all levels in the performance of their duties. Regarding the restructuring of the apparatus after the merger, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that there be no disruption and that ongoing and necessary tasks continue, with greater determination and higher effort in fulfilling their duties.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai called on all comrades, compatriots, and the business community to strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges to achieve a growth target of 8% or more in 2025, creating momentum and an important foundation to join the whole country in embarking on a path of breakthrough development, accelerating, achieving double-digit growth in the following years, and soon making the homeland and country even richer and stronger.
