Rapper B Ray (real name Tran Thien Thanh Bao) recently became the center of controversy on social media after a rap segment he performed during a livestream with several young artists. Specifically, the rapper rapped: "I told AMEE to call me older brother/Because I want to sleep with all the pretty girls."
The rap lyrics quickly spread across digital platforms and sparked mixed reactions from netizens. Many criticized B Ray's rap, saying it lacked proper standards and demeaned women. Numerous viewers expressed disappointment, stating that the rapper's performance of such content during a public livestream was inappropriate.

Notably, in recent times, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, along with other relevant agencies, has issued numerous documents related to rectifying deviant musical activities, requiring inspection, handling, and guidance on composition and performance in accordance with cultural standards. In the context of tightened management, controversial statements and content from artists have become even more sensitive.
This isn't the first time B Ray has been criticized for his offensive and vulgar rap. In 2023, the rapper released the music video "Để ai cần" (To Whom Needs) , which caused a strong backlash. The song's content revolves around a man's vengeful attitude towards his ex-girlfriend. The lyrics were deemed negative and offensive, harshly cursing the ex-girlfriend. Furthermore, some sections of the song were considered vulgar and offensive.
On January 3, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports summoned rapper B Ray for a meeting. During the meeting, B Ray acknowledged his wrongdoing in performing the song "Để ai cần" (To Who Needs It), which contained many negative and offensive lyrics. Therefore, his management and B Ray himself proactively removed the entire song from all digital platforms. The Department stated that it would coordinate with relevant authorities to handle the matter depending on the severity of the violation.
