In the UEFA Nations League final on June 8th, Cristiano Ronaldo once again affirmed his immense influence, even though the match ended with a rollercoaster of personal emotions.
After Spain took the lead twice through Martin Zubimendi and Oyarzabal, Ronaldo combined well with Nuno Mendes to score the equalizer in the final minute of the second half, bringing his career total to 938 and his international goal to 138.

Unfortunately, in the 87th minute, the 40-year-old superstar was forced to leave the field due to a thigh injury. The moment he left the field with his head held high but his eyes filled with regret was reminiscent of EURO 2016.
Remarkably, during the decisive penalty shootout, Ronaldo didn't dare watch directly. He turned his face to Diogo Dalot's back, showing his extreme tension. When goalkeeper Diogo Costa successfully saved the penalty, securing a 5-3 victory for Portugal, Ronaldo broke down in tears of emotion, relief from pressure, and overwhelming joy.
This victory brought Ronaldo his second Nations League title, and the 36th in his illustrious career. Despite no longer being at his peak, he remains the heart and soul of the team, inspiring others and continuing his journey towards the milestone of 1,000 goals.
