
On November 27, 2025, the dedicated freight transport route in the area of border markers 1119-1120 at Huu Nghi International Border Gate (phase 1), upgraded from 4 to 6 lanes, was officially inaugurated and put into use. According to assessments by relevant authorities, the capacity for customs clearance via this dedicated route is trending upwards after the addition of two new lanes. Specifically, from November 28 to December 4, a total of 5,294 import/export vehicles passed through the dedicated freight transport route in the area of border markers 1119-1120, an increase of 180 vehicles compared to the previous week. On average, more than 750 import/export vehicles passed through the dedicated route daily. From December 5 to the present, the number of vehicles passing through has consistently reached 700 to 800 vehicles per day.
The positive results achieved are due to the fact that, over the past period, the management of import and export activities through border gates in the province has continued to be effectively implemented by relevant departments, agencies, and functional forces; arising difficulties have been resolved through coordination between relevant agencies and proposals have been promptly submitted to competent authorities for handling, creating favorable conditions for import and export businesses. In particular, the completion and upgrading of the dedicated road for goods transportation in the area of border markers 1119-1120 (from 4 to 6 lanes) has made a positive contribution, facilitating and speeding up customs clearance.
Mr. Dinh Trung Kien, Deputy Director of the Border Gate Management Center, said: The Center regularly monitors and promptly exchanges information to clarify issues between the two sides related to import and export activities, upgrading and expanding dedicated roads... At the same time, the Center also closely coordinates with functional forces at the border gate to develop plans for regulating and diverting vehicles, limiting congestion in the border gate area; receives official letters, reports to higher authorities to find solutions and respond to specific issues with the neighboring country... Thereby, contributing to improving customs clearance efficiency at border gates and dedicated roads for goods transportation, including the dedicated road in the area of markers 1119-1120 of Huu Nghi International Border Gate.

Along with simplified customs procedures and investment in port infrastructure, the expansion of dedicated transport routes in the area of border markers 1119-1120 has also contributed to smoother and faster customs clearance, creating favorable conditions for businesses.
It is known that over the years, the province has focused on investing in infrastructure and wharf areas at border gates; actively implementing upgrades and expansions of dedicated cargo transport routes. Accordingly, the province currently has 4 customs clearance lanes/dedicated cargo transport routes at Huu Nghi International Border Gate. To promote customs clearance, relevant departments and agencies are continuing to direct and accelerate the construction of projects to expand the dedicated cargo transport route in the area of markers 1119-1120 (phase 2) from 6 to 14 lanes; and to expand the dedicated cargo transport route in the area of markers 1088/2 - 1089 from 4 to 8 lanes.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Head of the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Economic Zone, said: To contribute to improving customs clearance efficiency, in addition to investing in the construction of port and yard infrastructure and transportation connections, investing in upgrading and expanding specialized roads for goods transportation is also a particularly important factor. The inauguration and commissioning of the specialized road for goods transportation at border markers 1119-1120 (phase 1) has actively contributed to facilitating and accelerating import and export customs clearance. In the coming time, the board will continue to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to promptly address difficulties and promote the progress of construction projects to expand specialized roads for goods transportation; strengthen exchanges and discussions with corresponding agencies in China to agree on measures to facilitate import and export, ensuring smooth and stable customs clearance between the two sides.
It is evident that the expansion and upgrading of dedicated freight transport routes has significantly contributed to improving the capacity and efficiency of customs clearance through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate - Huu Nghi Quan. This has met the growing trade needs of merchants from Vietnam and China.
