Ancient forest surrounding the waterfall in Á village.

(GLO) - Not noisy with water cascading from above, the waterfall in A village (Ia Ko commune, Gia Lai province) captivates people with its ancient forest and giant exposed roots lying right at the foot of the waterfall.

The Á village waterfall (named after the Jrai village where it is located) is a small stream cascading straight down from a height of nearly 20 meters. The water column is slender, not fierce or roaring. The waterfall is nestled among ancient trees, so its beauty lies not in the destination, but in the journey that gradually leads you deeper into the world of the old-growth forest.

The path to the waterfall starts from the end of Á village, passing by a water source – a familiar place for the Jrai people – and then winding along the terraced rice fields. Having just finished the planting season, the lush green young rice plants stretch out, embracing the small stream that meanders along the undulating terrain.

And then, amidst that peaceful space, the water suddenly cascaded down a large rock, revealing a wide, arch-shaped cave below, hundreds of meters long.

The structure of the A village waterfall is similar to the Nha Thuong waterfall in the Ia Pia area on the southwestern border: massive, stacked rocks, curving in an arc, creating a unique space.

But what makes the waterfall in Á village unique are the ancient trees that cling to the rocks, dominating the entire space at the foot of the falls.

The entrance to the cave arch passes by an ancient tree with enormous roots that extend from the ground, embracing a vast space. Large and small roots intertwine, twisting and turning. At times, visitors must bend down and squeeze through these rough, damp, moss-covered "root walls."

Inside the cave's vault, the ancient forest continues to unfold, its exposed roots clinging tightly to the rock walls, reaching towards the rare rays of light filtering in from the cave's mouth. Wherever the light penetrates, the roots become visible, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.

The ancient forest is a testament to the passage of time at the waterfall in A village. During the dry season, the Jrai people in the village often stop at the waterfall to rest on their way to their fields.

Thanks to the spread of social media, many tourists have also come here, immersing themselves in the beauty of the waterfall amidst the ancient forest.
