On June 18th, the People's Committee of Sa Pa town organized a ceremony to present certificates to two establishments: the Nguyen Van Huy household business and Vietnam Brocade Production and Trading Service Company Limited, whose products achieved OCOP 3-star standards. Each unit brought its own story about identity and the persistent efforts to create products from the mountains and land of Sa Pa.
Notably, Vietnam Brocade Production and Trading Service Company Limited has six brocade products officially recognized as achieving OCOP 3-star standards, including: Sa Pa brocade ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), brocade men's shirts, U-shaped brocade pillows, Sa Pa brocade lamps, Sa Pa brocade stuffed animals, and Sa Pa brocade scarves.
These are all products crafted from local materials, from flax fibers and indigo plants, and other natural colors from familiar herbs and plants (such as yam, bamboo leaves, and taro), along with traditional craftsmanship and the dedicated hands of countless artisans in the highlands.
Ms. Tran Thi Hien, Director of Vietnam Brocade Production and Trading Service Co., Ltd., shared: "My greatest aspiration upon receiving the OCOP certification is to ensure that the brocade weaving craft does not just remain a title, but truly thrives in contemporary life. Each garment, scarf, and stuffed animal, imbued with the spirit of the mountains and forests, can be more accessible to tourists, Vietnamese people, and the world . And in the future, these products will be recognized not only for their beauty but also for carrying an entire cultural heritage."
