As someone deeply passionate about traditional weaving, the number of costumes made by Xơ Đăng artisan Trần Thị Kim Hoa (Tu Chân village, Trà Cang commune) is countless. According to her, although the materials have changed from the past, the colors and patterns remain unchanged, which is the key element in identifying the traditional costumes of each ethnic group.

“The colors of the Xơ Đăng people's traditional clothing are unique compared to other ethnic costumes in the district. The main colors are usually indigo, green, red, and yellow... although they may seem vibrant, they are easy to wear for various occasions. The elaborate patterns add a touch of elegance to the attire,” said Ms. Hoa.

Unlike the Xơ Đăng people, the dominant color in the clothing of the Ca Dong people is usually black, with common patterns in red and white placed on the hem of the skirt, sleeves, and top to create accents and distinguish them from other ethnic groups.
