A vibrant color filled with pride!

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - The red flag with a yellow star fluttered in the streets, on the village roads, in the hands of children, and on joyful, excited faces... creating a vibrant atmosphere on this great day. Eighty years ago, on the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the immortal declaration, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. From then on, generations of our forefathers volunteered to take up arms, bravely fighting and ready to sacrifice their lives... so that today the country enjoys peace, independence, freedom, and is on its way to "standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world."

Early on the morning of September 2nd, the urban center of Thanh Hoa province awoke earlier than usual. Along the flag-lined streets, long lines of people streamed towards Lam Son Square to watch the live broadcast of the commemoration ceremony, parade, and march marking the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, broadcast from Hanoi . The majestic and vibrant sounds emanating from the loudspeakers, the cheers of the people, and the red of the national flags created a lively, moving, and deeply proud atmosphere.

After solemnly singing the national anthem with everyone watching the live broadcast, Mr. Vu Ngoc Thanh (68 years old) from Hac Thanh ward felt: “I have never been immersed in such a joyful, moving, and proud atmosphere. In the 80 years since the founding of the nation, this is the largest parade and march ever. I feel like the whole country is brimming with enthusiasm to move forward and develop.”

Amidst the throngs of people in Lam Son Square, veteran Dao Van Dung (68 years old), from Hac Thanh ward, occasionally wiped away tears. Above the large screen, the endless marching of troops and layers of military equipment resembled waves... The country is now peaceful and independent, the war is long over, but the memories and sounds of the conflict remain etched in the minds and hearts of veterans like Mr. Dung. In early 1979, following the general mobilization order, he went to the northern border, assigned to Battalion 77, Regiment 205, Information Command, and directly participated in combat. In the smoke and fire of war, he bravely volunteered and witnessed his comrades fall to protect every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland. Therefore, he understands how precious the achievements the country has today are. Mr. Dung confided: “Peace is truly sacred, and the country is truly beautiful and powerful. It's very difficult to describe my feelings, but I know that I am deeply moved, excited, enthusiastic, and proud. I feel like I'm reliving the heroic spirit of those days when I went to fight the enemy.”

Contributing to the vibrant red color of Lam Son Square on the morning of September 2nd, the young couple Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1990) and Nguyen Phuong Dung (born in 1994) from Ham Rong ward arrived as early as 6 am. Despite having a spacious house and plenty of TVs to watch, Mr. Tuan still woke up early to come here, wanting to immerse himself in the lively and bustling atmosphere with everyone else.

To prepare for National Day, Mr. Tuan cleaned and decorated his house, hanging the national flag in front of the door several days in advance. At Lam Son Square, he and his wife even wore uniforms printed with the map of the country and had the national flag pasted on their cheeks. There, they sang the national anthem together, excitedly cheering along with everyone as they saw the military units, vehicles, weapons, and equipment in the parade and march of the commemorative ceremony. He shared: “I am so proud. Our country has achieved so many brilliant accomplishments in the past 80 years. From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful to President Ho Chi Minh and the generations of our forefathers who dedicated and sacrificed their lives and blood so that the country could have peace, independence, and freedom.”

On National Day, in the urban center of the provincial capital, where the streets are decorated magnificently with flags and flowers, each person expresses their pride in their own way. Many people arrived in Hanoi days in advance to watch the commemoration ceremony, parade, and march celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, immersing themselves in and enjoying the joyful atmosphere of this great celebration. Whether at home or in the capital, the common thread is that everyone carries a picture of the national flag, either held in their hand or printed on their cheek or clothing... They also believe that the national flag is the honor of a nation. Only when the country is peaceful, independent, and free can the flag fly freely. Therefore, more than the value of the photograph itself, wearing the red flag with a yellow star and taking pictures with the national flag is a beautiful expression of national pride, self-respect, and love for peace and freedom. And that is also a way for each person to educate their children and grandchildren about the tradition of patriotism and the moral principle of "drinking water and remembering the source"...

In the majestic, mountainous border region, for the Mong ethnic people, the anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd is also a meaningful holiday. For many years, regardless of distance, as this approaches, a large number of people from remote villages and border areas flock to celebrate Independence Day at the markets, both large and small, in the region. They don't focus on buying and selling or profit; they come simply to enjoy the atmosphere of this great festival. But it is a beautiful tradition, a source of pride that they are building and preserving together.

A vibrant color filled with pride!

Dinh Cong Trang Street in Hac Thanh Ward was ablaze with the vibrant colors of the red flag with a yellow star on the morning of September 2nd.

This year, thanks to the extra gifts from the Party and State, the atmosphere of Independence Day celebrations among the villagers has become more complete and vibrant. Around noon on September 1st, after a long journey across rivers and mountains from Ta Com village, Mua A Chu (born in 1997) finally brought his wife and children to Xa Lao market near Chieng Nua bridge in the same commune. At the market, Chu chose a fairly spacious stall right by the entrance for his wife and children to eat thang co (a traditional stew). As for himself, although he liked it and craved it, he didn't drink alcohol, because he thought he still had to drive his motorbike to take his wife and children back to the village safely, so that Independence Day could be fully enjoyed. Mua A Chu said: “This year's celebration is more enjoyable than in previous years because we received gifts from the Party and State. Our family received 600,000 dong. We are very happy and proud. My wife and I won't spend it all on the holiday; we'll still have some left to buy clothes for our little ones to go to school.”

Many people, like Mùa A Chu, were so enthusiastic that the Lao Xa market on September 1st was packed to the point of being almost overloaded. The crowds stretched for kilometers, all the way to the other side of the Chiềng Nưa bridge across the Mã River. In that space, young Hmong men and women took the opportunity to look for a life partner. And who knows, perhaps at this market celebrating Independence Day, some Hmong men and women will find their spouses.

According to Ha Van Ca, Secretary of the Party Committee of Trung Ly commune: From August 31st, the commune organized gift-giving to the people to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. At the same time, football and volleyball tournaments were held from August 29th to 31st to serve the recreational needs of the people. In addition, the commune's Party Committee led and directed forces to organize traffic flow management and ensure food safety and hygiene in areas with large crowds, such as the commune center, cultural center, and Xa Lao market... to serve the needs of the people celebrating Independence Day.

On Independence Day, from the rugged mountain ranges along the border to the vast white sandy beaches, from bustling city streets to peaceful and tranquil villages, the vibrant red flag with a yellow star flutters proudly, adorning and invigorating people's hearts with joy and excitement. It is a boundless space of peace, independence, and freedom, a vibrant expression of Vietnamese pride...
