The atmosphere at the national historical and cultural site becomes even more vibrant and warm in the early days of the new year, spreading pride and profound gratitude towards the outstanding son of Quang Ngai province.

A vibrant cultural space filled with the colors of spring.
In the early days of the new year, a large number of local people and tourists from all over the country visit the Memorial Area to sightsee, offer incense, and take commemorative photos, contributing to a lively, solemn yet welcoming atmosphere. More than just a familiar cultural and historical destination, the Prime Minister Pham Van Dong Memorial Area has become a meaningful cultural space for activities every time Tet (Lunar New Year) and Spring arrive.
In preparation for the upcoming Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse 2026), the Memorial Area is being prepared early and comprehensively with a high sense of responsibility. Along the route from the main gate to the memorial area and exhibition area, national flags, Party flags, and string flags are arranged harmoniously, creating a spacious and fresh appearance. Vibrant flowerbeds, banners, and pennants are decorated in a coordinated and elegant manner, imbued with the spirit of spring.

In particular, many walkways and cultural spaces within the memorial area are adorned with traditional lanterns in warm red and yellow hues, adding a decorative touch for the Lunar New Year while enhancing the solemn and intimate atmosphere of the spring season. The themed check-in areas for traditional Tet celebrations are strategically placed, allowing visitors, especially young people, to capture meaningful moments when visiting the hometown of Prime Minister Pham Van Dong during the first days of the new year.
According to Nguyen Van Trong, Director of the Mo Duc Commune Public Service Center, the staff of the Memorial Area are actively beautifying the flower gardens, trimming trees, cleaning the grounds, completing the exhibition halls, and adding miniature landscapes.
On this occasion, Mo Duc commune added approximately 500 potted flowers of various kinds, decorated the welcome gate to celebrate the New Year, and built miniature landscapes reflecting the cultural atmosphere of Tet (Lunar New Year) in the service area for visitors. In addition, points for introducing OCOP products and rest stops were arranged by the Mo Duc Tourism Information Center, contributing to improving the quality of service, making each "return to the roots" trip more complete and meaningful.

With solemnity, we look forward to the anniversary celebration.
The Pham Van Dong Memorial Area was classified as a National Historical and Cultural Monument on February 21, 2006. Currently, the site preserves and displays 848 artifacts, over 200 images, and nearly 500 valuable documents, all related to the life and revolutionary career of Prime Minister Pham Van Dong. Each artifact and document not only holds historical value but also contains vivid stories about a great personality, an outstanding disciple of President Ho Chi Minh, who dedicated his entire life to the people and the nation.
In the minds of the general public and tourists, the Memorial Area is not only a commemorative space but also a "red address" of special significance in educating present and future generations about patriotic traditions and revolutionary history. On average, it welcomes over 40,000 visitors annually for sightseeing, research, and offering incense. During holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and major anniversaries, the number of visitors increases significantly, including many groups of students, officials, soldiers, and people from within and outside the province.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Mo Duc commune, Nguyen Xuan Thai, said: “The Pham Van Dong Memorial Area preserves valuable documents about the life and revolutionary career of Mr. Dong, so that present and future generations can learn from and emulate him. The locality has proactively developed a plan to manage, protect, and promote the value of the relic in a long-term and sustainable manner. At the same time, it has directed relevant units to regularly maintain environmental hygiene, care for the landscape, ensure security and order, and create the most favorable conditions for people and tourists to visit and offer incense.”
Sharing her feelings about visiting the Memorial Site on this occasion, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hoa (Ho Chi Minh City) emotionally shared: “Although I have read and heard many stories about Prime Minister Pham Van Dong through books and newspapers, coming here in person, I am truly proud. The visit helped me understand more about the life and revolutionary career of Prime Minister Pham Van Dong and made me love my hometown of Quang Ngai even more.”
