If placed on a dining table, a low vase should be chosen to avoid disrupting meals. Next, consider the style. Vases, like other decorative items in the house, need to be chosen to match the overall style of the space. As a general rule, the ratio of flowers to vase should be 1.5:1. For a tall flower arrangement, the flowers should be 1.5 times the height of the vase. Similarly, for a short vase, the vase height should be 1.5 times the height of the flowers.
