Night crab hunting in Mui Ca Mau

Hunting for mud crabs is an activity that attracts young tourists .

Some prominent community-based experiential tours that attract tourists include tours through mangrove forests, clam harvesting tours, setting and removing nets, catching fish and crabs, shrimp farming, or paddling traditional sampan boats with flashlights to hunt for mud crabs, a specialty of the mangrove forest region.

The three-spotted crab resembles some other creatures like mud crabs or freshwater prawns that live in saltwater under the canopy of mangrove trees.

The group of young people enjoyed the experience of catching mud crabs.

Around 7 PM, mud crabs will crawl out of their burrows and creep around the roots of mangrove trees to look for food; this is also the ideal time to hunt them.

After nearly two hours, we harvested over 4kg of mud crabs.
