Over the past weekend, The "Beautiful Sisters" concert, featuring 48 female artists who participated in the 2023 and 2024 seasons of "Beautiful Sisters Riding the Waves, " has officially taken place. Lasting 5 hours with over 50 performances, the show maintained its energy until the very end. The significant investment in visuals was undoubtedly one of the key reasons for the concert's success. The show featured a large rotating stage designed as a female biological symbol (♀), which could simultaneously move in a semicircle and be raised and lowered flexibly, bringing the artists even closer to their fans.

Previously at concerts The show, which overcame countless obstacles to attract tens of thousands of spectators, also used a platform lift to increase the distance, similar to the one used in the opening act. Furthermore, with a large number of lifts, both shows continuously created surprises, as viewers couldn't predict where the artists would appear. Sharing the same producer, both shows also featured stunning, modern LED screen systems, allowing even distant audiences to clearly see the artists. In addition, low-altitude fireworks, confetti, spinning fireworks, firework displays, and smoke effects added to the perfection of the performances. Another element worth mentioning is the lighting. With its seamless programming synchronized with the music , this crucial element created diverse visual experiences.

It's also worth mentioning the largest LED screen located directly in front of the stage. Instead of directly displaying the performances like the screens on either side, the organizers of both shows made great efforts to create impressive visuals. For example, in the segment about homeland and country, to honor cultural identity, designs inspired by traditional details and patterns were projected. Enterspace, the visual production and stage design company for the "Beautiful Sister" concert, stated: "For us, visuals are not simply beautiful images on the LED screen, but also a place to convey our dedication, cultural values both domestically and internationally, with positive messages."
Besides the two aforementioned programs, the stage design of many recent solo live concerts has also received special attention. Most notably, Ha Anh Tuan's "Sketch a Rose," held at the end of March, was recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the "Largest outdoor music stage in Vietnam with a 360-degree rotating platform and 3D rose model decoration." Specifically, the center of the stage featured a giant 20-ton 3D rose model, and throughout the show, 3D mapping effects continuously changed the rose's appearance. Meanwhile, the 360-degree rotating platform allowed audience members from every angle to fully enjoy the concert.
Opening up new opportunities
While the efforts and cooperation of many parties are crucial for a successful event, it is only now that the contributions of the individuals behind these spectacular stages are being properly recognized. For example, Long Kenji – the lighting director for two talent shows – has recently been affectionately nicknamed "the genie" by audiences for his unique lighting designs, leaving a lasting impression while working with ADT (Art Design Team).

Sharing his thoughts on the change, Long Kenji said: "I think it's inevitable that audiences will start to care about and learn about the team behind the performances; it's just a matter of time. No matter how glamorous an artist is 'under the spotlight,' there's always a team behind the scenes providing silent support. I'm very happy that the audience has embraced this and I appreciate that the stage lighting has received attention throughout the show – something that was rarely considered before. I think that's a blessing."
Looking further ahead, the success of these concerts shows that stage design and effects are becoming increasingly professional. This is a positive sign not only for domestic audiences but also opens up many new opportunities as Vietnam is gradually becoming an attractive touring destination for international stars. Accordingly, A-list stars coming to Vietnam always have special arrangements to ensure the quality of the performance, and while in the past organizers had to rent equipment from neighboring countries, with the recent boom in large-scale productions (and more in the near future), meeting these requirements quickly will no longer be a distant prospect.

Conversely, attracting professional teams from international stars to produce shows will give the domestic performing arts industry many opportunities to improve its skills. Producer Vo Do Minh Hoang, Director of Viet Vision, a company that has produced many shows for foreign stars, shared: "It can be said that over the years we have seen remarkable development in performance technology, although we still depend heavily on the level of investment from organizers for each entertainment event. Therefore, expanding cooperation with foreign partners is one of the directions we are truly interested in, because not only do we gain experience, but we also learn from advanced markets, at least in terms of technical exchange."
