This is an initiative deployed by the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), aiming to form a data warehouse on Vietnamese agricultural products on a digital platform, serving market promotion and development.
The map will be officially launched within the framework of the Vietnam Agricultural Products Week 2025, taking place on October 24-25, 2025 at 45 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi . The event is considered the beginning of the formation of a data system and channel to introduce Vietnamese agricultural products nationwide, contributing to promoting, connecting consumption and affirming the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the market.

According to the implementation plan, in the first phase, the Vietnam Agricultural Products Map will introduce a number of typical agricultural products of each province and city, representing the advantages, identity and economic values of the locality. The product list is proposed by the Department of Industry and Trade of the provinces and cities, on the basis of ensuring criteria on quality, reputation and regional representation. This approach helps to reflect the diverse and rich picture of Vietnamese agricultural products, while creating a foundation for expanding and perfecting the database in the next phases.
This initial selection is not only to introduce typical products, bearing the unique characteristics of each locality, but also to create a foundation for the process of completing and expanding national agricultural product data in the coming time. Thereby, aiming to build a unified, updated, and transparent database of Vietnamese agricultural products connecting farmers - businesses with consumers, effectively serving the management, trade promotion and promotion of the image of Vietnamese agricultural products in both domestic and international markets.

The Vietnam Agricultural Products Map is also oriented to develop into an open search platform, providing a comprehensive information system on origin, growing areas, production processes, quality certification, as well as businesses, production cooperatives and domestic distribution channels. With this data source, the map is not only a promotional tool, but also plays a role as a bridge between producers, consumers, distributors and export partners, contributing to improving competitiveness and increasing the brand value of Vietnamese agricultural products.
“We expect that each product appearing on the map will not only reflect quality and reputation, but also spread cultural values, working spirit and unique marks of each region on the S-shaped strip of land,” said a representative of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development.
The Vietnam Agricultural Products Map will be supplemented and updated regularly and is expected to become a valuable map in terms of information, vividly reflecting the potential, advantages and identity of agricultural products in each region across the country. This is not only a tool for promoting and connecting markets but also a form of strategic communication, contributing to spreading Vietnamese agricultural products.
After its official launch, the Map will be introduced and publicly updated on the Electronic Information Portal of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development www.dms.gov.vn.
